Daniel Galvin Bariatric Surgeon M.D.

I liked Dr Galvin From the frist time I saw
him, He is very good at what he does, I
Had an Open RNY, I was up and moving that
afternoon, walking the next day, my pain level
was never unbearable, I used a pump for 3 days. Dr Galvin was good about checking on me asking how I was doing, He has a good program to help his post op patients, his
bedside manner and competence were both Great!!
These are my own feelings, Steve

During my consultation with Dr. Galvin me and my mom was so pleased with him. He answered everyone of my questions and even made a few jokes. He is very up front and open with you. His assistant, Ginger is so, so, sooooooooooo very patient and helpful during the consultation and everytime you call on the phone. She will return your calls and answer any questions you have for her. I feel safe and secure with Dr. Galvin performing my surgery because I have asked God and God will be with him in the surgery room. May God continue to bless this man and woman and everyone that comes in contact with them. No mater what happens, God knows best.

My first appointment/eval with Dr Galvin was on 4/21/03. There was about a 2 month wait to get an appointment. Dr Galvin's clinic is at UAMC and my only complaint is the parking! UAMC is located in an older part of Little Rock and the parking is bad. The first person I met upon arrival was Ginger, Dr Galvin's assistant (sorry, don't know if she is an RN)what ever her title, she is an ANGEL! I am calling her many times a week relative to this insurance thing and she has been great. A big thanks to you, Ginger. I hope Dr pays you well...LOL. Anyway, Dr Galvin is a very pleasant man and he too has alot of patience as I had many, many questions that first visit(I work in healthcare, the question thing is a job-hazard). Dr Galvin was very complete in his exam and his review of the WLS that he calls "a tool" to help you reach a normal weight. I could not believe that he spent 1 hour plus with me that first visit.

i had my consult with dr. galvin last week i thought he was very up front about everything and answered any questions i had without hesitation.after care was emphasized very strongly and that it would be a life long thing. overall i think he is a very competent and thoughtfull surgeon and i belive he will do an excellent job.also i was my insurance approved my surgery after the fist time i didnt have to send in anyting ginger at dr.galvins offic took care of it all she was great.

I haven't met him yet. The doctor I thought
would be doing the surgery is moving out of
state. I am scheduled for a consult on 7/22/02. His nurse, Shannon, is very knowledgeable and personable on the phone. I am looking forward to meeting her
in person.
7/22/02- Met Dr. Galvin and Shannon today. Both appear very friendly. Dr. Galvin answered all my questions and put up with my out of the ordinary requests. He was very patient and didn't appear rushed or looking at his watch while he was talking to me.
8/22/02- UAMS is a teaching hospital. I don't know how I will react to a herd of residents discussing me at length, in front of me. I'll let everyone know how it went.

I have not met Dr. Galvin yet, but his nurse, Shannon is a sweetheart. I had my consult today (8/5). Dr. Galvin was very nice and informative. He was considerate about the questions that I had. He did not sugar coat anything. He made us aware of all the benefits and risk of the surgery. Overall, I was impressed with him. His staff was also very nice and helpful. They put a lot of emphases on aftercare. We had a class over all areas of the surgery and the aftercare was a big part of the class.
