Daniel Galvin Bariatric Surgeon M.D.

my surgeon is excellent. He is straight forward and supportive. There hs been a turn over in his staff, but that is a hospital issue not his issue. The thing that I like the least is the wait to be seen. I appereciate the time that he spends with me when I need it but I really hate waiting 1-2 hours to see my MD. He is really into aftercare and the need to keep after it. There is a monthly support group for after care. He explained the risks of surgery very clearly to me. I would rate him 9/10 overall. His surgical competence and both great! Ann

Dr. Galvin is very approachable and easy to talk to. I felt comfortable talking
with him at my pre-op visit. His emphasize on weight-loss aftercare is a necessary part
of his program.
The office staff and surgical team are very
informative as well. They are there to answer any questions that I may have.
I would have to rate Dr.Galvin and his surgical team a 10. I am very pleased.

His bed side manners were upbeat. His office staff always seems to listen to what you are saying. Future patients should understand his humor. I feel that surgical competence and bedside manners are the most important when looking for a awesome surgeon. I will be recommending him and talking about his staff for a very long time. They all work very well together.

DR. GALVIN IS A VERY PROFESSIONAL GENTEL MAN, WHO REALLY CARES THAT YOUR IN THE RIGHT FRAME OF MIND, GOING INTO THIS WITH EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW.
I FIRST MET DR. GALVIN IN JAN AT A SEMINAR THAT I WENT TO WITH MY FRIEND. I HAVE ONLY GROWN TO LIKE DR. GALVIN MORE WITH MY VISIT TO HIS OFFICE IN ROCHESTER GENERAL HOSP.
THE STAFF ARE VERY HELPFUL. GETTING EVERYTHING SCHEDULED FOR ME. TRYING TO KEEP WITH MY HECTIC SCHEDULE.
THERE IS NOTHING I DO NOT LIKE ABOUT DR. GALVIN. I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND HIM FOR ANYONE THINKING ABOUT HAVING THIS PROCEDURE DONE.
AFTER CARE IS VERY IMPORTANT TO HIM. IF YOUR NOT GOING TO FOLLOW HIS AFTERCARE PROGRAM YOU MIGHT AS WELL NOT EVEN GO TO SEE HIM.
HE TOLD ME ABOUT ALL THE RISKS AND BECAUSE I HAVE RESEARCHED THIS FOR THE PAST 3 YEARS I REALLY DIDN'T HAVE TO HEAR IT BUT HE TOLD THEM TO ME ANYWAY. HE WANTS TO MAKE SURE YOU UNDERSTAND THEM ALL.
I WOULD RATE HIM A 10+ HE IS BOTH CARING AND IS VER COMPENTENT AND HAS A GOOD BEDSIDE MANNER.
THE ONLY PROBLEM I HAVE IS THAT WHILE I WOULD LIKE TO GET IN ASAP I WILL HAVE TO WAIT. I HAVE A LOT OF TEST TO COMPLETE BEFORE I CAN EVEN GET MY APPROVAL FROM THE INS. CO.

Dr. Galvin is no longer in Little Rock, AR. He has moved his office to Rochester General Hospital in Rochester NY.
Not sure of my first impression. I guess I thought he might of been a person who was anxious for his business to take off. Like he was normally a very busy guy, but needed for things to get busy for him. He was very nice and I have confidence that he will help with the insurance issues and my pre opertive state.
His office staff is a staff of one - Robin. She is funny and very easy to talk to. I have had more contact with her.
He told me a lot about the surgery and what the post living would be like.
I also have visited with a nutritionist, a phycologist (sic), my family doctor and several specialist to be sure I am in good health for this surgery.
Right now, I rate him a 6 out of 10. Don't know better to rate him higher or lower.
Post op - feedback. I can not think of a bad thing to say about Dr. Galvin or his staff. They were wonderful and still are. The surgery went very smoothly. Dr. Galvin has a great personality and is very laid back. His bedside manner is unhurried, yet direct. Robin, Ann and Marion his office staff is wonderful to work with.
After care and information for after care is very through. The necessary nutrition was well documented and he has his own support group and encourages you to attend those that are offered locally.
I rate Dr. Daniel Galvin a 10.
