Christopher Dyas Bariatric Surgeon M.D.,F.A.C.S.

I met Dr. Dyas today March 10, 2002. My first impression was very good. I was nervouse going in and felt much better when I left. He made me feel comfortable and was friendly. He answered all my questions in plain english. His staff seemed friendly. He requires all patients to keep a food diary for two weeks, get a phsyc. eval., and medical clearance for surgery from their PCP. He addressed the risks and benifits of surgery up front and explaind the proceedure for the surgery. He drew a picture (before and after). He seemed knowlegable. I will rate him at my next appointment in two weeks.
3/24 Second impression...... even better so far so good. I was more comfortable this time. He went over after care and said I would be seeing him for about two years after surgery. I gave him a list of questions (15) he took time and answered all of them. He was very friendly. I even asked a question for a friend that didn't pertain to me at all (and he knew that) and he went into great detail to make sure I knew what he was talking about.
6/4/03 While at the hospital the nures spoke very well of Dr. Dyas. They said he was a very good surgon. His surgery's are very neat and is paper work is well kept.

He is the type of person to get right to the point. He explained all the risks involved with the surgery...and all the risks involved if I did not have the surgery. He is not one to sit and "chit-chat" with ya..he says what he needs to ...asks if you have any questions and then he is off to the next person. He is very polite and seems very skilled at this procedure. He won't be my best friend....but he will be my surgeon!

I met Dr. Dyas on Feb 17, 2003. I was nervous and emotional during the first visit. It's a huge decision. Dr. Dyas was very nice and explained everything for me. I took a list of questions with me, and he answered all of them for me. He asked me to come back after I completed a two week food diary and had the phsycological evaluation. I thought my second visit was even better than the first, probably because I was past the nervousness. My second visit was March 7th. He looked over my food diary and we talked more about the surgery. Dr. Dyas was recommended to me by one of his patients. My surgery has been approved by Blue Cross. It was approved April 1, 2003. I'll be back to see Dr. Dyas soon and schedule my surgery date. From my experience so far, I would recommend him to anyone seeking a surgeon.

Dr. Dyas quickly put me at ease at my first appointment with him. We just generally discussed the different approaches and he gave me a booklet describing the different surgical procedures which generally answered most of my questions. He asked me to read the booklet, keep a food diary for two weeks, asked me to discuss the situation with my family physician, and requested that I get pre-op x-rays and bloodwork done. He also scheduled me for a psychiatric evaluation. I completed all these tasks and returned in two weeks. We had a more in-depth interview at this time, and went over the results of all my testing. He told me that the insurance would take 6-8 weeks to respond to the precertification process, and his office would contact me regarding a surgery date if I were to be approved to proceed. I was approved by my insurance company and a surgery date has been set for April 16. I am going in for a pre-op appointment on April 8.
Wish me luck!

I've only seen Dr. Dyas once and I have to say that I was impressed with him. He was very knowledgable of the procedure and took the time to explain everything in detail to me. He even told me that he would give me a discount on anything not covered by my insurance since I work at a local hospital here. I thought that was nice of him. His staff was very nice and prompt. I will post more after my second visit which is Tuesday April 1, 2003.

My first impression was that he was not very personable, but seemed to know what he was talking about. I decided to stay with him and see if my opinion changed. After a while, he became more friendly. He was very honest and forthcoming about the risks of surgery. I asked numerous questions and he answered all of them. His office staff is very polite and friendly.
The only thing about Dr. Dyas that I didn't like is that he didn't discuss aftercare as much as I would have liked. He didn't help as much as I felt I needed.

TO day was my first visit and my first impression of him is I liked him very much and he answered all my question. The office staff was very nice.I havent found anything I didnt like about him. He told me all the risks that are involved with the surgery. I would rate him as Good only see him once. This is my personal experience and I am not making any statment about what other people may experience
I still go with my first impression, He answered all my questions ,and the office staff is very nice. He told me all the risks , there really wasnt anything I didnt like about him. I give him a 10.

I am so ready I am excited and a little nervous, But I put this surgery in Gods hands and I know he will take care of me and he will be with Dr. Dyas as he does the surgery and everything will be fine. Dr. Dyas is a Very good surgeon, I have friends who used him and they done great.

He was very informative.
I have only met with him once.
They were very friendly.
Ther was nothing that I disliked about him.
He seems to be very thorough.
He stresses after care is the most important factor.
Yes he does.
By letting you know straight up what to exspect.
I would rate him a very good Dr.
I just know about his first visit, which went well.

God blessed this man with a wonderful mind and skillfull hands. He's performed surgery on several friends and also my baby sister. I watched the care he gave to my sister. The interaction that he had with her. The way she was treated. It helped me make a decision on who would do surgery on me. Chris Dyas will do mine or I won't have it done. His office staff couldn't be any better. For the first time in my life, I didn't mind weighing. I knew I'd finally reached the place where I'd get the help I needed to lose this weight and keep it off.
