I have been overwieght from the day I was born (9#10 oz at birth). It has been a life long struggle. I like everyone else in my position and have tried every diet out there. I have been successful at times and then gain it all back and plus. I first began thinking of wieght loss surgery a few years ago when I began to have some health issues (heart problem and joint pain). I got really serious about a year ago when a few people where I work had the surgery and had done really well. I spoke to one of these ladies in depth about her experiences. I then decided to explore it myself. The internet was a wealth of information and I went to a seminar and then did nothing. I think I got scared. A couple months later I approached my doctor and she was very supportive and referred me to Dr. DeSimone. I went to his seminar and was hooked immediately - I think because of his demeanor and his nurse's personality. It was a 9 month journey and I am scheduled for surgery 4/1/08 when the rest of life begins! I want to be healthy and feel good. I want to be able to do things I haven't done in years. I want to enjoy my grandson while he is still young. I want to live a long time!
