Truuwon
I am nearly two months post op and I have to say I'm impressed with my progress. I've lost about
42 lb. I can tell a huge difference in my face and a lot of my clothes and shoes area already too big.
I spent an entire morning removing all my winter clothes from the closet. It was sad to see that
many of them still had the tags on them. For some odd reason I feel sad giving up my clothes.
I thought I would feel much happier when it came time to do this. A lot of my coworkers who
know i had WLS make positive comments all the time and this makes me very happy. Others
who don't know me just give me a strange look as if to say "something is different about you but
I dont know what it is." I'm fitting into clothes I haven't been able to wear in several years. When I try them on I just
stand there looking at myself in the mirror and already I can see a new me emerging.
One of the best things about the surgery is that I feel so much lighter. I can walk without huffing and puffing
and feeling like I need oxygen. I can get up and down from a chair without struggling, and I handle the heat
so much better. We've been in triple digit heat for the entire week and not once have I felt totally miserable
like I used to. I'm doing quite well on eating although I still don't get in enough Protein but I do try.
For anyone reading this pre op, please know that your tastes will probably change once you have WLS.
So don't stock up on protein shakes ( I hated all of them except EAS ready made shakes Yummy!!!).
Order samples and focus on protein rich foods as soon as you can.
