Just an update to let everyone know I went to my pre-ops Tues. May 21 at MCV in Richmond Va.What a fun day!! Jill, Dr.DeMaria's nurse held a class covering everything that will happen the day of surgery and everything after etc. Then the nutrition specialist held a class on everything we need to know about our post-op diet and gave us a progressive diet to follow in the weeks following surgery and they were very specific about what to try and when ,I am amazed at how thorough these people were!! I will do everything I can to follow the rules precisely, I really want this to work in the best possible way!! I met some really nice people in the class and we went to lunch together after the class and got to know eachother, What a neat group of people! We were all different ages and everyone was so nice. After lunch we all took a long walk through the hospital to get to Pre-op testing, we all had different tests done based on our co-morbidities. I didn't have very many tests but I did have the EKG and a blood test. Then finally a last stop at the surgeons office to talk to the resident doctors and get weight and BP. They explained everything very clearly and answered all my question throughly, I have to say MCV has got it going on!! They know what they are doing!!!Well, know all I have to do is wait for May 21st to start my new life!! See ya'll on the other side!!! Good luck to everyone in their journeys in WLS! Bless you all and this web site!!
