My how things change...

Sep 03, 2007

090207- Well this year has not been what I expected. On March 6, 2007 my mom fell, as most of you she has been dealing with cancer for over 4 years. Well when she fell, she could not get up, ended up in  the ER and once they did an MRI they found another tumor on her back (and later a small one in her brain) they did emergency surgery and after a little more than a week, she was moved to a rehab center to relearn how to walk- everything looked good which must be why I did not meantion it in my post of 032907. Well things in the world of cancer are unpredictible. A few weeks into rehab, she got shingles, then she had pain in her arm and chest, back to the hospital for more tests, blood pressure unstable then breathing problems. The doctors went from saying she had 18 months to six months then 6 weeks and then 3-5 DAYS- mom died on the 5th da- Mother's day May 13, 2007. This was just 2 months after they had started out saying 18 months. I am dealing with it one day at a time - some days are better than others.
I am still having complications from the lower body lift in January and go in for a revision on Wednesday Sept 5. I have a new email assress which I just updated so your messages should get it to me. It is [email protected]. If I had your email address, I no longer do since the old provider was turned off for so long. Please  keep me and my family in prayers.
******* This is what I just posted to my page. I am sorry I have not been around to offer support but hopefully you read the above and understand. If I previously had your email and or phone number. please send it to me at the above address. Thanks and much love!!

Hi to anyone reading! I have just passed my 2 year anniversary and had a lower body lift on 01/25/2007. I am having some complcations (my body does not seem to agree with the permanent sutures, but my surgeon and I are trying antibiotics and packing the opening that were draining and if that does not work, he may go back in. While I do not look forward to another surgery so soon, he did say if he has to go back in, he will take more skin so it would not be all bad!! He took 25 lbs in January and now I am in size large or 14/16 and sometimes a 12. I started my journey at 335 lbs and a size 32 or higher and now am between 165-170 so to me, that is great progress. I hit some plateaus along the way but they end up going away and I lose some more- even since plastics. So far I have lost about 170 lbs or 1/2 of my old self. Life now is so much different (better) I am not embarrased to go to the beach or wear clothes that fit instead of a size too big to cover up (which makes you look bigger). I will try to keep up better this year and will post some pictures once I can get them sized down to fit the site. Terri
