"I believe I was on the general surgery post-op floor so there was all kinds of different pts recovering, not just WLS patients. The staff was very busy but after ringing my call bell TWICE with no response I finally had to call for a supervisor! The floor was very noisy throughout the night with patients literally screaming "Nurse Nurse" or the employees being loud. I was very disappointed with the care. Not to mention that NOT one of my nurses even checked my incision sites, AND one of them never even heard of WLS!!?? Seriously, she couldn't even pronounce adjustable banded gastroplasty. That made me very uneasy. Also, the day of and the day after the surgery your only able to eat ice chips. Well, they refused to give me a spoon to eat them off of. I had to put my hand inside the cup to eat them which was ok untill it was half melted. They said they dont have a cafeteria or break room on the floor. I even asked one nurse to please get me one when the food was brought up for the other patients. No. I had to use my hand. "

"Dr Castellanos is a very down to earth guy and has a great bedside manner. He doesn't sugar coat anything, he tells you like it is. He's very easy to talk to as far as your concerns and questions. He's very professional but after a few he visits warms up and becomes more laid back. He is very light handed and precise as far as band filling goes. His office staff are all very caring and knowledgable. You can almost always get Marilyn on the phone, if not she's prompt with the return call along with the answer to your question. Lori is Dr C's nurse and \"right hand man\". Again, very professional and very knowledgeable, mainly because she's an RN but also because she too is WLS patient. I am lucky to be under their care and have them on my side. :) "
