I had stomach stapling 21 years ago and never had any "real" complications until this year 2009. In January 2009 I had galbladder surgery. Then in February 2009 I went to the emergency room doubled over with the worst abdominal pain you could imagine. Many doctors and tests later, I was sent to Dr. O'Malley a bariatric surgeon who said that my original weight reduction surgery had failed. Food was backing up into my esophogus and getting through to my lower stomach. This causes vomiting after anything I eat, stomach pain, and extreme fatigue. I am scheduled to have revision surgery on May 5, 2009. Of the original 180 pounds that I had lost, I have regained approx 65 pounds. I am looking forward to losing the weight and getting my life back again.
