I was always just a little overweight even as a kid, never huge but bigger than I should be. I got married really, really young and had to children. I never lost the weight from either pregnancy and then when I had my tubal years later I added another 25lbs.
I finally got to my biggest when I turned 40 I reached 297lbs. then I knew that my life was at a half way point. I could either get off the couch and really do this thing (I have been on every diet known to man over the years, yo yo dieting is not the way!) or just keep talking about it.  I finally went to my dr. and talked with him and with all my other health problems he agreed this was the thing for me to do. Just as I was starting the process my husband got really sick, he started having mini strokes. To make a long story short he ended up having brain surgery and I put off my surgery goals to take care of him for another year. When I finally was able to concentrate on me again I had regained the weight I had lost prior to his illness so I started from square one and with an appeal my insurance finally approved the surgery.
I had the surgery last week and I can't wait to move forward in my life.
