8/31/2006 -- I was approved by Horizon BCBS on Aug 10, 2006; however, I'm STILL waiting for Dr. McCarty's surgery scheduler to CALL ME WITH A DATE!!! I'm rather impatient, I realize. But I'm so ready to get this started.
9/8/2006 -- Found out today that Baylor WLS still hasn't released my file to Dr. McCarty's surgery scheduler. I only found that out because my PCP is just as fed up as I am and called them for me. (They won't return my calls) Unbelievably, the staff person she spoke with was rude to her too!!!
Now for the icing on the cake -- MY INSURANCE AUTHORIZATION EXPIRED ON 9/7/2006 BECAUSE IT TOOK THEM SO FREAKING LONG TO "PROCESS" MY PAPERWORK!!! NOW I HAVE TO START ALL OVER AGAIN. WHAT BS! My insurance company has been an absolute pleasure to deal with, but my surgeon's office has been a total nightmare. I believe in Baylor's program and Dr. McCarty's skill or I would be running to take my business elsewhere!
9/11/2006 -- What a difference a weekend has made. I had three calls from Baylor today and it turns out Dr. McCarty had a "cancellation" on Thursday. I go in for pre-op tests tomorrow. This is going to work-out great for me, I think. I won't have time to get nervous. :-)
9/14/2006 -- Today is my Re-birthday
9/17/2006 -- I'm feeling somewhat better. The nausea has eased up. My throat is still so swollen that my tonsils/epiglottis is gagging me if I talk or brush my teeth. I'm looking forward to feeling better. I know I'll get there.
10/3/2006 -- Drum rollllll....I've lost 32 lbs in 34 days.
