Michael King

"First impression of Dr. King--it was obvious that he is up on the latest information regarding bariatric surgery and that he truly cares. He sees obesity as a disease and is non-judgemental and kind in dealing with his patients. At my first appointment he was meticulous in explaining the procedure and patient to answer my endless list of questions. He made me feel so at ease. His office staff are all friendly and efficient. Becky Wilson is the RN who guides the patient through the initial process and was absolutely wonderful. She is enthusiastic about helping the patient figure out what is best for them and always had a smile for me. rnHis pre op diet is stricter than most surgeons. I was very unsure of my ability to stick to it. He explained that it was necessary in order to make the surgery as uncomplicated as possible. But it had another effect on me. Going \"cold turkey\" with food revealed just what a hold overeating had on my daily life. The two weeks of liquids prepared me for the post op period and also gave me confidence that I would be able to make the life changes necessary for the surgery to be successful.rnIt is important to have a skillful surgeon and desirable that he/she understand obesity and all of the emotional aspects that go along with it. Dr. KIng is one of those rare surgeons who possesses both qualities. "
