I went to the doctor yesterday and I am down another 11 pounds, I have lost a total of 25 pounds since my surgery. I am so excited. My doctor moved me to Phase 3. I am not sure I am ready. I got really sick after eating some chicken. I have been cleared to start lifting weights. I am excited and can't wait to see what kind of results I have with the weight training.

I been doing well here lately. I have added tuna to my diet. Talk about yum yum yum. I eat it for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. I know that I need to add some other types of foods to my diet so that I don't get bored. It is kind of difficult to find things that I like. When I don't like something, I tend to be over cautious when trying to find something different to eat. I also found cottage cheese which is high in carbs and protein to be quite delicious.

OK. I had my 2 week follow-up today. It went well. I lost 14 pounds!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yeah!!!! My nurse practitioner was concerned with my carb intake. She wanted to make sure that I was getting enough carbohydrates. She doesn't want me to be too tired. My next appointment is in two weeks and I have been instructed to keep track of my food intake. I want to increase my walks beginning tomorrow. I know that exercise is going to be my key to success.

For breakfast, I had an egg today. It hurt so bad going down. I had to stop eating. I could not finish. I was kind of disappointed.
This afternoon, I had some refried beans with cheese. UMMM!!! Delicious!!!!! It was great even though I could only get in 2 tablespoons. It went down a lot smoother than the egg I had earlier. So, for dinner I had leftovers.
For my first day of eating, It wasn't too bad.

I didn't realize how hard this was going to be. Most people assume that you have the surgery , your stomach is small and you just wait to lose the weight. Its not like that at all. There are a lot of rules that are involved. And one has to be able to follow the rules.
I am feeling a little down and out. today. I have been struggling with my protein intake ( my little one calls it my coffee)
. Protein is such an important part of this process. If you are not getting in the proper amounts of protein you will be so tired.
I will be able to advance to phase II tomorrow and my 2 week post op appointment is on Tuesday. I have been very lucky thus far. I have not experienced any nausea or vomiting. So I consider myself very lucky. I spoke with someone today about how I was feeling (Jennifer) she was such an angel. So, anyone reading this and you are heading to your 2 week mark and you are struggling, please talk to someone. It will help push you along. To anyone on their journey or just beginning, good luck Well closing for now. I'll let you know how it goes!!!!!!

Yeah I got to go home! They took out my drain tube. THANK THE LORD! I did not want to have to go home with that thing in my side. My fiance and I were given our discharge instructions. I happily went home.

I was still trying to sleep off the anesthesia. I had major gas and wished badly that I could pass it. The more I walked the better I felt. Again a day of liquids (1 ounce) every 15 min. and walking every 2 hours. By the end of the day, I was walking the hallways 2-3 times. And I was able to increase my fluid to 2 ounces very 15 minutes because I was passing gas. I still had my drain in which was a little irritating. They said if I was doing well tomorrow. I could go home.

My goodness I was so high!
All my friends came to see me and no telling what I said to them. I did however walk 100ft with the assistance of my fiance and my IV pole. After my walk, I was able to have my catheter removed. I was very happy about that. I was awaken every 15 minutes for fluids. I remember getting pissed off
cause I wanted to sleep. But my team wouldn't let me and I needed my fluids. I did not want to get dehydrated.
