Happy New Year to everyone!!!!
I haven't posted in a few months but thought I could update quickly. We leave on our cruise in 22 days and I am very excited!! I am currently down 73 lbs! I was hoping to be down 65 lbs by the cruise so I guess I made that goal. I still have no desire to try sugar. The Holiday season went quite well. It was a little difficult having the food sit out for hours and not go and continually graze but other than that I continued to loose weight. I miss my daily walks and hopefully when we get back from the cruise we can purchase a tread mill. Other than that everything is going well.

I haven't updated in awhile. With the girls back in school, sports have started and me back to my crazy work schedule. I am always busy!! I am down 45 pounds and people are commenting alot. It is wonderful the way I feel. I am so much more energetic and a lot happier!! I have been taking pictures monthly to help it be more realistic. I definately have a low tolerance for surgar. I made some barbacued chicken not to long ago and even though the sugar content on the sauce was 9g, I took two bites and felt awful. I don't even want to try sugar anymore. I need to work on eating slower and making sure that I am getting all my liquids in. I didn't think it would be a problem with as much as I drank before surgery but there are some days that I can't get it all in. Having the cruise only 3 1/2 months away gives me a great incentive. I am hoping to be down at least another 20 pounds by then. Thats all for now.

Time flyes by. I had my 5 week check up on Monday with Dianne and everything looked great!!! She said I am doing things perfectly and to keep up the good work. I was told to contact Dr. Baker and ask about starting my Vitron early because of my GI bleed a few weeks ago and I haven't heard back from Dr. Jeff yet. I have started to loose weight again Yeah!!! Yesterday I offically graduated to the next size down in jeans. This is a wonderful feeling. I went through all my jeans and sorted them by size and threw some of them away. I should have enough to get by for awhile. I am hoping to not have to buy any clothes until I buy stuff for the cruise in January. I had a major stressor on Monday and I survived without wanting to eat which I felt was a big success. (Major marital problems with my sister and her husband). Anyway, things are going GREAT> Dianne also told me that due to the dumping reaction that I had with the yogurt I am probably going to be very sensitive to sweets. This is OK with me, sweets played a huge part in how I got to this place in the first place. I forgot, I am down 34 pounds!!! I took picures at 1 month out and was down 31 pounds. People are really starting to notice. It is a wonderful feeling.

Well, I am going back to work tonight. I work overnights and I haven't quite figured out how to work my food schedule out but I will do what I think is right and I see my nurse for my 5 week post op appointment on Monday so I can go over everything with her then. Eating real food has been great!! However, I feel like I am in a holding pattern, I have been at the same weight for 1 week now and it's driving me crazy!!

What a week I have had!!! On Monday 8/20 I wasn't feeling very well throughout the day. Around 7:30 pm I thought I was going to pass out. I layed down and felt a little better. Around 8:30 I went to the bathroom and the toilet was filled with dark red blood and blood clots. I called Dr. Baker and he wanted me to come to the hospital. I was admitted with a GI Bleed monday night and after 4 days of poking and proding every possible place I was sent home Friday night with no bleeding but not knowing the cause of the bleeding in the first place. Yesterday I was still pretty weak (when I left the hospital my hemaglobin was 10.5 and normal is 11 - 13 for women) I really took it easy yesterday and I am feeling stronger and healthier today. I get to start pureed foods on Tuesday and I can't wait. Although tomato soup and milk are tasting mighty fine!! ( I never thought that I would said I like milk, ha ha) Hopefully that will be the last of problems and it will be smooth sailing from here on out!!! I am officially down 21 lbs!!!

Boy did I learn a lesson yesterday. On Wednesday I was feeling really good and I overdid it. Yesterday I felt AWFULL!! I felt like passing out and was very weak all day. I will definately take it slower for awhile. I am feeling much better today thank goodness. Other than that things are going well.

I just got back from my 1 week appointment and everything is going good!!! I am having some back pain (had it before surgery too) and Dr. Baker said that he could tell by looking at me that I was in pain so he gave me some different medicine to try. We'll see what happens. Anyway, I am down 5lbs from when I went into the hospital and I get to add tomato soup/v8, cream soups and fudgesicicles YEA! New Foods. The first week has not been that bad we will see how the next week goes.

I am officially a looser!!! Surgery went pretty well, I did end up having a lap RNY however it took Dr. Jeff 3 hours and 20 minutes due to the scar tissue from my gallbladder surgery in 1990. My bladder didn't work, I was cathed twice before the medicine started working and ended up staying 2 nights instead of 1. I have been home for 2 days and I am still feeling pretty sore and tired. I am sipping and walking and napping. My family and neighbors have been great and a lot of help. I know this was the right thing to do. I just need to start feeling a little better.

I am having a hard time concentrating on things and trying to get ready for tomorrow. I have succeded in loosing the 10 pounds that Dr. Jeff wanted me to loose and I am ready. The next time I post I will be on the loosers side!!!

I have 7 days until surgery and I am very excited but starting to get a little nervous. I am on a strick liquid diet starting today and hopefully will loose a little more weight before surgery. I am currently down 6 pounds. Last night was my last night of work until after surgery so I will really be able to concentrate on preparing for surgery. I can't believe it is only 1 week away.
