My story…
I am sure, for the most part, it is more then likely exactly like yours….
Always had a weight issue. Funny, considering I was a preemie. I sure made up for that! I think as a toddler and into maybe kindergarten I was “normal”, but after that, no.
My greatest attempt at weight loss came maybe 3 and a half years ago now. I lost 160 pounds in about 11 months. I started at 330 and ended 170. I was very unhappy with my end result. I was 170, 5’6 and wearing a size 10/medium. I loved my size, but I had extra skin just hanging off my body. I had to stop losing weight because there was just nothing I could lose at that point without having plastic surgery. Well I was able to get Medicare to cover that but with the long weight I had started gaining back some of what I lost. I couldn’t really help it. As soon as I stopped trying to lose and started trying to maintain, the weight just started coming back. I had been on an extreme diet. I had my own version of low car. I was basically starving myself, maybe 500 calories a day, and drinking almost a gallon of water daily. I never felt good, my coloring made me look ill. I looked like a cancer patient. I did not end up gaining all the weight back, but right now I am just a few pounds away from the 100 pound mark.
I have had some success on the Sonoma Diet, but I don’t think that it alone will do the job. That is why I am here looking into WLS.
