"The nurses ruined everything for me. On more than one occasion when my pain med or iv went dry....I was told that I needed to wait till shift change and ask then. Sometimes this being several hours off. When requesting anything it was always followed by a 'sigh' what now? My husband stayed in the room with me (and took care of most of my requests) in a foldout sofa chair thing that took the staff many many hours to hunt down. And then during the second day there some other employee of the hospital tried to take it from him. The nursing staff were the most hateful people i have encountered in my life. During my first attemt to use the bathroom after surgery, one of the nurses actually stood and stared at me the entire time. This fact seems to infuriate the director of nursing when i told her this bit. I adressed my concerns with her and she seemed very upset and promised to address the issue. "

"05/02 I am 7 mos post op now. I have to say that Dr. Fabito is a wonderful surgeon. I met him for the first time in my group appointment during my pre-op testing. He answered everyones questions thouroghly and provided alot of information. He has been doing WLS for MANY years, and actually goes to other hospitals around the country to teach the RNY procedure to other surgeons. He also does vascular surgery so WLS is not his only practice. He is a funny man, loves a good joke. That alone is very rare for anyone with the letters MD following their name. I felt very comfortable talking with him. He is a busy man with an even busier office. Poor Ida, she must really know stress management. I have since been back for my one week appointment and again for my 6 month appointment. Both times I was in and out of his office within an hour. Again very rare in this field. I have had other complications with my galbladder and a suspected ulcer. He has been there for both situations, and assisted as he could. I had originally chosen Dr. Yates for my surgery, and am so happy that it didnt work out that way. I dont think I could have chosen a better surgeon. 8/10/01 Well, I have to say that I really like Ida at Dr. Fabitos office all ready. She has called me on several occasions just to update me on what they are doing. I cant believe it. With all the troubles that I had at dr yates office, I get this!!!! WOW!!! "

"I was very surprised as to how nice the staff was. Everyone was so very helpful. I was also surprised as to how far they have gone to accomodate the new start program. There we huge chairs everywhere, and they even have big wheelchairs and beds. I was relatively a lightweight, and I was swimming in these chairs. It is really nice to know that the hospital was that accomodating."
