Today was yet another step closer to what could be and will be a whole new start in my life.  My life will begin anew and I'm excited. 

today was my psychological evaluation/visit.  Her name was Dr. Donna Abbott.  She stated that I would be an excellent canadate for this surgery also.  She also mentioned that Aetna is pretty good about authorizing this procedure for people who need it.  So Now....I just need to get through the stress testing & 3 months of nutritional counseling.................patience....patience....patience....

Today was the first appointment I had with the dietician.  This seems to be a very slow process, but I'm at the point in my life that I am okay with this process - so I'm going to go through with it.

Carol is my dietician.  I met her on 5-15-07 which was my weight loss workshop and this is what started the whole process.  We talked briefly about me and then what Aetna requires in her notes.  She went over a nutrition plan for me and what she would like for me to incorporate in my daily diet, including at least 10 min of excercise/walking, adding veggies and fruit to my diet including a snack in the afternoon.   Next appt - in 3 weeks.

I've received the information from Baylor that I've been expecting...so off I go to start this process...more processes..........Dietician/nutritional and exercise plan.

They have requested 5 yrs of medical history on me which I expected.

I sent a copy of that letter and medical authorization letter to Dr. Rubin, Dr. Sanders, Dr. Henthorne in OKC and a few other doctors so that I could obtain at least 5 yrs of medical documentation to forward to Baylor for consideration. 

Its been a long 3 weeks since I attended the first of many steps (the Workshop) for this weight loss adventure.  Another girl at ESIS has started this process also.  I called to check up on my application process and "Lisa" states that Dr. Matin is still reviewing those apps and I should hear from her through the mail for the next step...so the waiting continues.....................

My Journey started today - actually 3 weeks or so ago whcn I made the decision to move forward to start on a weight loss management program with Baylor.  I called my PCP and set up an appointment and then was advised to call and schedule to attend a required seminar and here we are today.  I sit in the conference room awaiting the seminar to begin as I write this.
