Well, just a quick note to ya all to say HI and I am doing well. I had surgery on Nov. 1st and went for my first follow up appointment yesterday. I had my drain tube (OUCH) and staples taken out. I have also lost 19 1/2 pounds since the day before surgery!! YEAH!! Thanks for all of your support! GOD BLESS!

Hi everyone! ANGEL ^i^ UPDATE!!!! Trina is 12 days post op; had her 1st follow up appt. w/the surgeon today and everything is good! She FINALLY got her JP Tube out - surgeon made the comment today that she should have a had it removed when she left the hosptital but "somebody" forgot to write orders for it...oh well (I know, easy for me to say, I'm the one who's had to have that nasty thing in my gut for the past 12 days!), anyway, she is tube and staple free and while she's a bit sore from him removing the tube she's doing good. I'll let her tell what her weight loss is so far - VERY EXCITING! Take care. Karen

Just a quick note, yes it is me. I made it! I won't lie, I have caught myself wondering what the heck, but I remember and I quit questioning myself. I think my very positive outlook will return as soon as the drain tube and stitches are out, which is next Monday. I have been Blessed by GOD and will post more later!trina

November 6, 2001: Hi everyone! Trina came home on Sunday (2 days ago) and is doing really well. She's having a bit of pain at the JP Tube site but nothing major. She's 5 days post-op and doing waaaay better than I anticipated after seeing her incision! (owie) She's up and walking as much as she can, she's feeling good and has started to venture into her new life and her relationship with food. She hasn't been hungry so getting her to eat something has been somewhat challening but so far she's tried broth, baby food, and jello. Tonight she's going to venture out into the scary world of pureed cottage cheese and I'm praying she can tolerate the dairy - only one way to find out and yes, it's easier for me to say that than her. We haven't done any weighing or measuring yet, maybe on the 1st week anniversary, maybe not. She has a follow up appointment next Monday w/her surgeon and so we'll keep you posted. :)~ Karen

10:00pm, November 1st. I just talked to TRINA! On the phone, me and her, nobody relaying messages! It was so good to hear her voice! I'm going to go see her tomorrow. Both her husband and our mother are coming home tomorrow - neither of them are good at the hospital thing - so I'm going to go see her and spend the rest of the weekend with her...she has a private room and was given authorization from the hospital for me to able to stay in the room with her. I'm so relieved! I know she's in good hands w/the medical staff but the problem is they only have 2 hands and umpteen patients to care for. I want to be there for her to help her potty, sit up, lie down, whatever she needs me to do. I get to be an angel in person! I guess I better go polish those wings :::now, where did I put them???::: lol. Hugs, Karen

HI EVERYONE! I'M SO RELIEVED TO SAY KATRINA HAS MADE IT THROUGH SURGERY JUST FINE - SURGEON SAID IT WAS ALL VERY ROUTINE AND THERE WERE NO PROBLEMS. SHE IS STILL IN RECOVERY BUT SHOULD BE MOVING TO HER OWN ROOM SOON (LUCKED OUT AND GOT A PRIVATE ROOM! GO TRINA!). ANYWAY, I WILL KEEP YOU POSTED AS I KNOW MORE. THANK YOU TO ALL OF YOU WHO LET ME RAMBLE IN CHAT TODAY AS I AWAITED THE NEWS ON HER STATUS! IT REALLY HELPED! HUGS TO ALL! KAREN

Dear Trina...I'll keep you in my heart and in my prayers. My surgery is for 11/9, so I'm right behind you. Hope you don't have much pain and that you get to go home soon. Do everything that they tell you to so you will do well. Love Ya...Momma Sandy
