You are official. UP and out of the dark tunnel. CONGRATULATIONS. You know, now you can keep going up from today and it will no longer be weight! LOL! This is supposed to be the really hard part though, some have depression and stuff, let me know if I can help. By June (three months out) the perspective seems better or so I have read. Nice to hear from you.

Just some rambling thoughts to thank everyone for all the support and knowledge I received from this group. My DH is the best angel. It was very hard on him. He was very scared for me. I was not nervous at all. Never did get nervous. I walked into the operating room and was awake long enough for the first IV to get started and they gave me versed and I was out. Next thing I remember was waking up in recovery fighting the ventalator. They immediately removed it. So, I was in the OR for 8 hours. I had adhesions completely wrapped around my duodenal bulb and it took Dr Ren 1.5 hours to cut them down. Bob was frantic as was my mom and everyone else waiting word. Because I was on the ventilator so long I went to IMCU overnight. I have hallucinations on morphine and can not take toradol as it messes with my asthma. So, the demeral worked ok for about 2-3 hours. I got off demeral after day one and onto crushed percocets which did much better. I was able to get up and move around. Once I got up the first time I have been moving around ever since. Taking pain meds about every 10 hours or so. No nausea. No vomiting. Everything tastes in the hyper mode. Had tomato soup for lunch and was it ever good. So, my total hospital stay was 3 days + 4 hours. I felt like a mack truck hit me the first day. I sent Bob home because I could not bear to have him see me that way. Actually I let him stay about 5-10 minutes at a time till last night. When I actually felt humanity creeping back. lol Seeing the worry in his eyes just about un-glued me. The nurses and staff at NYUMC were fantastic. I was attended to by a nurse and a nurses aide during my entire stay. Dr Ren and her staff (Gio came to the recovery room to make sure I was ok) are fantastic. I would do it again. Glo got a bad break and Dr Ren is just furious with her PCP as the lump in her throat was just obvious. Glo and Dave helped to make the beginning of our visit to NYC a good one. She is a very special lady. Going to hybernate in the room here for a few days and hope to get out on a cruise for a few hours before we leave. I wish I knew how you were doing and that you had an angel. I am so new to the site, I didn't think I could be an angel yet, so I didn't volunteer. Now I wish I had a way to get news about you and your NY Adventure. I hope you have pulled through and will be back and better than ever soon! Miss you. ^A^ in training.....

Nancy, Please excuse the empty post. I just wanted to wish you well!!! I spoke with Gio today. He told me that you were out touring NY. I want to thank you for taking the time to suggest Dr. Ren, eventhough I had once thought about going to her. I scheduled a consult, psych, nutrition consult and preop test on April 25. I don't arrive home from Hawaii until April 22 or 23, so this will work. Hopefully, I will have my surgery in May. God Bless!

Go Nancy! I am so excited for you. You will have white light and angels all around you. You know the smaller you get, the more room around you for angels and light.....

Hi Nancy!!! Congratulations on almost being on the other side!!!! I too am looking forward to the day I can say.,...I'M HERE ON THE OTHER SIDE!! Just wanted to wish you luck and godspeed and a fast recovery. You will be in my prayers..Tammy

Nancy, congrats from a fellow Michigander (Midland). By the time you see this, you will probably be on the recovery side and on to a new life. Good luck!!! My prayers are with you. Louise
