Got some awesome news, I actually lost 7 pounds since I last saw Dr. Korn. I was really happy to hear this especially since I was really trying :o) The Doc said everything is looking good so far. I have scheduled my third appointment with Dr. Korn for next month. I still have some work to do though.
Today I also went to a Cardiologist. It was my first time. I really didn't know why I was there till the Doc explained that Dr. Korn want to make sure my ticker will make it through the surgery. The nurse attached all about 10 wires to me, took an EKG and sent me on my way to have a Treadmill Test. Thye wanted me to reach a heart rate of 167 and I was able to get to 185.  I have one more to do, a Echo Heart Test of sorts and if that clears out, the Doc said he will give the a-okay letter to Dr. Korn for surgery, YEAH!
I also have to meet with a nutritionist again. This one will be a specialist in the bariatric field. I heard she was very good.
If all goes well, LORD willing, my insurance will say YES!!! I am praying for the month of October, that would be awesome!!!

I am officially 35 years old today. YEAH!!!! I have embraced my oldness and I am okay with it :o)
To Celebrate we went to Chuck E Cheese and then to the Chuck Close exhibit at the Boise Art Museum. Had some pizza and then walked off the calories :o)

Here is a side note. My hubby went to Dr B.A. office were he found out that no only was he officially approved for the lap-band but his surgery date wasn't til next year!!! Is that a joke or what!?!? They want him to wait another 5 months outside of the 23 months he has already put into this whole thing. All I can say is ARG!!!

Praise the LORD my hubby got approved for the Lap-Band!!! He has a pre-op appt with Dr. B.A. on Wed. This has been a 22 month adventure with this doctor and we don't know what he is going to require of my husband now. He has gained about 30 pounds since his first weigh in about 2 years ago. He has already put himself on a "diet", I so don't like that word, to get his liver ready for his surgery. We both started our journey at the same time, did the same things, turned int the same paperwork and I wasn't approved. The funny thing is that I am so okay with this. Like my Mom-in-in-law said, we don't want to have the surgery at the same time. I am praying everything goes well. I AM SO EXCITED!!!

Today we met Dr. Korn and his staff. They were great. He has such a grip on how the insurance system works and is very confident on his ability to get the surgery approved and preform the surgery himself.

I think we are trully in good hands. My Mom-in-law had a great experience with Dr. Korn and has only great things to say about him.

I got a silly letter from my insurance company on Saturday stating the my appeal has been denied for the gastric bypass. Funny thing is that I am not asking for the gastric bypass but for the lap-band. The letter said that I did not meet the 6 month diet and excercise plan or the 3 month doctor suprevised diet. Amazing, I start my diet in October on 2005 for 6 months and then again in May 2006 and then again in November of 2006 when I finally left my primary doctor in February of 2007 when I realized that my high blood pressure was still out of control, my average being 172/99 and my diabetes was not getting better. Thank GOD for Dr Hartman!!! I started seeing him in March of 2007, my blood pressure now runs about 137/92 which is really great for me and diabetes are undercontrol, I test between 70 and 90, and the best thing is the he is for the Lap-Band. Dr. Hartman is such an amazing Doctor, I whish I would have known about him when we first arrived to Idaho. I really feel like I waisted my time with our previous primary care physician.
I can't wait to meet Dr. Korn and tell you about my experience!!

I FOUND HOPE AGAIN!!!

After many failed attempts of working with Dr B.A. and his office to have the lap band ... lets see... oh yeah, 21 months!, I have, under the suggestion of Shell, looked for another

Doctor in our area, and Praise the LORD we found one!!!
It turns out that the Doctor who did my friens RNY and my Mom-in-laws RNY is going to start doing the Lap Band in September. WOOHOO!!!!

We went to an informational seminar on 7/17, very informative, and we have our first appt with Dr. Korn on 7/25. We are so excited. They have worked with our insurance and said that we sould be all set for september once everything checks through. WOW! That is the closest we've been to an actual date.

I am so glad we are done with Dr. B.A. :o)

How does this work?

ARG! I haven't given up on the Lap Band but I don't think I will be pursuing it any longer. Im tired of trying and making no progress. This whole battle started 10/05 and I'm tired of the ups and downs and the fact that I have had 3 friends who had surery and they took 3-5 months from beginning to end. This WLS doctor is not giving me any direction, I have to do all the work and the sad part is that not only do I have to do all the work but I don't know what the work is til months later. Example, I called and they said they had everything they needed, I didn't hear anything in 2 months so I call back and it turns out that they are missing information. My question was, why didn't anyone CALL ME!!! ARG!!!
