Hang in there Monica -- this too shall pass. I know setbacks are the worst but, if you're like I was, it's better to have them while you're still in the hospital than after you get home. Sending good vibes your way and hope you're feeling better quickly.

Latest update-Monica was moved into isolation yesterday as she has a bacterial infection of some sort in her intestines. They have been treating it with antibiotics. She feels much better since she now knows what's been bothering her. Guess they couldn't figure it out at first. She's hitting that happy morphine button and feels pretty good w/that. They are letting her DH bring the kids to see her today after school. That will help immensely. The kids have been very scared. Maybe if you get the time you can stop by her page and post some good wishes for recovery. I'll print the page then have Larry take it to her. She'll be in for a few more days at least!

Hi friends, I'm back! I just received a call from Monica. She sounds good for just being out of surgery(again). She actually sounded better than yesterday. She feels better too! Will get her up tmo. and nothing by mouth today(just to play it safe). Luckily nothing was too serious. Just the old blood/dehydration. So, will post when she comes home!

Angel landing-Hi all. Where to start! First, Monica's doing MUCH better. Went to ER yesterday in NJ. Had Pulminary Test & Cat Scan. All appeared negative. Very dehydrated. By 11pm she was on her 5th bag of fluids. A lot of pain, not sure why. Dr. Herron at Mt. Sinai was notified before the ambulance ever left her home. He spoke with the Hospital before she ever arrived. The best surgeon was on her case(I felt much better by that). ANyway, it was deemed that any surgery if needed was to be done at Mt. Sinai and not at Morristown. Dr. got her stablized and Mt. Sinai sent an ambulance to come get her.I was impressed. They arrived by 10:30pm and were wonderful. When they arrived all of a sudden there was this presence. His hat and jacket said "BIG DADDY". Well, he was big and so gentle with Monica. It took a 1/2 hr. to move her onto the gurney. They moved her inch by inch so as not to cause any more pain. I must say, the ER staff would have just moved her. They couldn't figure out what he was doing in there! Monica said she felt much more comfortable on the gurney. She was so afraid of the pain getting bounced around to NY(1 1/2 hrs). Only 2 episodes around bends. They got to Mt. Sinai around 12:30 am and Dr. Herron would do surgery if needed after they reran the tests. All tests okay but they did go in around 5am. Found some dried blood that they cleaned up. No leaks but they think that the dried blood and the dehydration were the cause of the problem. So, Monica was able to have another LAP. She's resting comfortably. Luckily she went directly to the 10th floor when they arrived and didn't have to go back thru the ER. So, thanks all for your prayers! I know Monica deeply appreciated it.Will keep you posted when we know more. They plan on putting her on solids tmo.

Angel back on duty-I just spoke w/Monica's DH Larry. Monica's not so good at the moment. She's had 2 bags of fluid and her BP is still below 100. She's dehydrated. Currently she's having a pulminary test and a Cat Scan. In 1 hr. they will do another leak test. The ER Dr. has been in touch w/Mt. Sinai. Any surgery is to be done at Mt. Sinai as Morristown dsn't do the DS. Also, one of the WLS Dr.'s has been called and as soon as he's out of surgery he's going to check on her. She's not stable enough to move to NY. I'm on my way and will keep you updated! Please continue to keep her in your prayers!
