Hi. Congrats, you are almost on the losing side. You have made a valiant decision for a healthier lifestyle and I applaud you. Good luck on your upcoming surgery and I hope you have a speedy and painless recovery and much success on the rest of your journey

Pamela I take Paxil. I had surgery (open rny) a month ago and got a pill crusher and mixed the pills in yogurt, or applesauce with equal. I am on a pureed diet for another 4 weeks. I spoke with my doc today and he said I could cut the pills in thirds, and take them throughout the day. I called him because I could not take the meds in applesauce....it tasted so bad I almost threw up. Well, so far, so good with cutting the pills in half....But I also thought that I take another med that are in capsule form, and put my paxil inside them, as they are so much easier to go down. I tried iron in liquid form and almost threw up. unfortunately I am so sensitive to things that taste awful. Good luck to you, and e-mail me if you have any other questions. Mari Seattle

Pamela - I take 40mg of Paxil and I had no trouble at all when taking it after surgery. They took me off all my meds while in the hospital, but once I went home, I went back on them immediately. Good luck. Wendy

I hear nerves are common when your surgery date gets near. I get them now and I have just started the process. I know you'll do fine with everything.
