Mari, I just read your post and wanted to reach out and give you a "BIG HUG" it seems you are on a bit of an emotional roller coaster, I think the best way to deal with that is to find something fun to do just for you. Get yourself involved in a craft or pour yourself in to a project that you have long put off, to get your mind off things.... I think we all go through this after surgery as we are missing " OUR FRIEND FOOD " It takes time but it does get better. For me I found that the hunger was really "Head Hunger" because if I got busy doing something I forgot all about being hungry. I am glad that you have a very supportive friend in your life that is for sure a God send. I think it is a good thing to talk to the Dr. about your emotions as well as the possible hernia.... see what they can offer to help you....and just remember there is nothing wrong with taking a mood stabilizer to help. Well I am praying for you, hang in there and keep the faith. Let me know how things go for you. hugs and God Bless Maureen

Well, I finally made it to surgery and now home. Had surgery on the 9th and came home the following Tuesday. I apologize for the complaining I did about Dr. Weber. He is an excellent surgeon, and general nice guy!. I had no complications at all, and nno complaints about the puree diet. The hospital staff were WONDERFUL to say the least. They were caring, porfessional, funny and accommodating. I really enjoyed my stay as much as anyone can when recovering from surgery. If you live in Western Washington and are considering surgery I highly recommend Dr. Weber and Swedish Ballard. Mari Seattle

I made it. had surgery on 5/9 at Swedish Ballard. The staff were great!!! They were all very plesant, and went out of there way and were very kind, respectful and funny! I had little pain, didn't use much pain meds, no nausea, gas or vomiting. I feel very blessed to have had such a good surgeon. Nothing to eat or drink for 3 days after surgery, then 2 days of liquids, one day of full liquids, then pureed food for 8 weeks. The first three days without water were not fun to say the least. I let go of being mad at Dr. Webber for his call the Friday before about me gaining weight....and possibly cancelling surgery, but that didn't happen. Dr. Weber was very pleasant throughout my hospitilization, and would highly recommend him. He is very strict, but that is fine with me as he has my life in his hands. I have not had time to read e-mails and postings to my profile, but will be getting to that later this week. Thanks for all the prayers and they brought me through surgery without problems. Keep them coming for an uneventful recovery!

Hi Mari, I am in N.E. Tacoma, I just was looking over the surgery dates ans saw yours was on friday, hope all is well. It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery. ... Gal. 5 vs.............................. Freedom...freedom to move..freedom to do the things that we were not able to do for so long...freedom to live. No longer will you be a slave to this issue of weight and all that it has brought you. You are finally free!!!!................................ I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge--that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. Eph 3.16..................................... Power..now you have the power to stregnthen yourself. Be empowered! go out and encourage those that need to be encourage. those who are thinking about wls... share you journey with others so that they too can become empowered and....................................... In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven. .............................. Give praise to the heavenly Father that has watched over you!! He has kept you through these procedures and has kept you safe. He has enabled you to over come this issue of weight and will allow you to shine... shine your light!!! and....................................... Anyone who receives instruction in the word must share all good things with his instructor. Gal. 6 and.................... share the good news that has been shared with you.. tell everyone about your jounery...every detail share.... so that others will learn and be empowered... And finally give praises to the heavenly Father who kept you from all harm... He is a mighty Good God!!......................... Blessings..Thea thanks for your encouragment
