Gonna' Get My Work On!
Apr 26, 2008
Yay! After 11 months, I am finally once again gainfully employed!!
I had to leave work early last year to "take it easy" while I was pregnant because of my blood pressure... I've been out of work since and am starting to go a little -a lot- stir crazy. I'm a waitress/bartender and got a new job (my old restaurant closed over the past year) at a trendy Italian place a few towns away... gonna be busy, but I'm so ready for it. Haven't weighed myself in awhile, I make it a point not to do it too often... I've been a "scale-obsessed freak" before and it's no fun... but I feel a little smaller than even last week! I'm still being pretty good about the calories, although I've had "junk" cravings the last day or two that I have totally went with... love me some potato chips once in awhile
! I had 2 pieces of garlic bread with parmesan and fresh black pepper for dinner last night... whatever. If I make my diet too stringent, I know I won't keep it up, so I am pretty good about letting myself off the hook. I must be doing something right, because the weight continues to fall off... hopefully I won't "find" some of it again being immersed in delicious Italian food...
Hey Look! I got one of these nifty ticker thingies!

Still Losing (after all these years)!!
Apr 20, 2008
I'm sooo happy with the progress that I'm making so far!! Since last post I have lost another 7 lbs
!! I've been "dieting" (the irony is NOT lost on me, believe me!) since 2/5 trying to lose extra weight that has crept on over the last 3 years of life, a recent pregnancy, and not paying careful attention. I set my goal-20lbs at the time by May 5th-and honestly had no idea how it might work out... the only time I've tried this since WLS was about 3 years ago when my "skinny jeans" started getting tight and I lived for like 2 weeks on pretty much salad (and wine) to lose 5lbs...embarrassing yes, but true nevertheless. So far, I have lost the 20, plus another 12!! I was soooo worried when I first embarked on this that because of all the complications I've had with my stomach and surgeries as a result that my pouch wouldn't work anymore... it seems to me that "revisions" of "failed WLS" are getting more common...back when I had mine, I was told there WAS no revising it, period. Luckily my pouch appears to be just fine, and I am officially back to the weight that my surgeon thought I'd end up at... though I personally would still like to be 10-15lbs lighter and plan to keep plugging away... I really feel such a sense of accomplishment, not to mention relief!!
That New-Kid Feeling...
