I know the wait seems torturous, and you know I understand because I am still waiting and have been since March 5th, but I will tell you this, once it is done, it happens so fast it will make your head spin!! Mimi: I saw your post about the psych eval. I just had mine yesterday, and it was a very short meeting, as well. Although some people have said they must go to 2 or 3 appts for theirs. I really just think they're trying to find out if you're mentally stable enough to handle the changes that come about after surgery. They ask you about being depressed in the past, because depression is more likely to occur in people who have had it before, so they want to watch you for that. A lot of people who have WLS do get depressed afterwards, and it's often because of hormonal changes, and problems with body image. I wouldn't worry about the psych eval. I also think that the doctors have them done to cover all bases, in case of malpractice suits, etc. They can say they evaluated you for everything. Good luck in your WLS journey.

Mimi, I'm so glad that your consult went so well. It's so exciting to follow someone's progress that is so close to mine.
