I have not posted in a very long time. I am out 6+ months from surgery and have lost a total of 34lbs.  That is nothing to complain about but it has seemed like a very slow process.  I had lost 18lbs of that due to the liquid diets pre and post surgery and then did not have any more weight loss until my third fill in the beginning of July.  It has taken some time for me to get the right restriction.  I also had to change some of my meds that were working against me.  I think that I am now on the right track and definately understand that the band is still just a tool to help you along the journey, it most definately does not do all the work for you!

Well it has been exactly one week since my surgery and things are going well!  I had the lap band and right now have minimal bruising around the incisions and port area but have been off of pain meds for 3 or 4 days already.  I am currently in the full liquid stage and am thankful to be out of the clear liquid stage, although I did lose quite a bit of weight on the liquid diet pre-surgery (1 week) and the clear liquid diet after surgery.  About 17 or 18 pounds in two weeks!  Wow, what a good jump start to a long journey!  My surgery experience was exceptional, I went to Dr. Alvarez in Mexico and would recommend him and his staff to anyone!  I will post again next week when I get to go into the slush and mush stage!
