Like so many others I have spent most of my life dieting. It began in middle school with excessive exercise and skipping meals, then onto laxative abuse for about 6 years. When I finally came clean with my dr. in fall of 1989, and so began my many years of therapy, the weight really began to heap on. I have dieted my way up the scale. With each weight loss came the rapid regain..PLUS.
I have read countless diet/self-help books, attended thousands of meetings and been weighed millions of times, and where as all of this gotten me? At my hightest weight of 298, August 2006. This is when I began to research WLS. Due to illness is Feb, I was down to 278 on April 3rd when I went for my dr. consult at Hurley in Flint.
Now I'm just waiting to hear what other hoops the insurance company will want me to jump through. Also, experiencing some fear about having surgery and the outcome. I just don't want to make a huge mistake..
