seems like the weight loss has slowed down quite a bit.  i am at 231 now--that's a total loss of 33 lbs.  i haven't had any problems with anything.  i've tried new things with great success.  i should exercise more but i don't--and i don't have any excuses.  more posts later

I am almost 3 1/2 weeks post op and down 27lbs.  I am doing amazingly well.  I still have a little incision pain but I guess that is to be expected.  I have not had any problems eating anything.  I have tried fish, chicken, hamburger meat, salad.  Everything sits good with me. The day  Dr W cleared me to eat more foods....we went and had mexican and i had 1/2 a cheese enchilada.  It tasted so good.  The other day i went to the mall with my 2 kids and we had chic fila for lunch...i ate 3 little nuggets.  I just can't express how happy I am that I can eat meat.  I was scared at first but if you chew correctly--you don't have problems. I am glad I made this decision. 

Day before surgery and I am very nervous.  Been on clear liquids since yesterday.  A little hungry but I'm doing okay.  Yesterday I had to drink the magnesium citrate and it was horrible.  I didn't expect it to be so sour., but i choked it down.  It is definately doing what it is supposed to be doing. 12 more hours and I am on my way to the hospital.  I will re-post when all is done.  Thanks for all the support.

Got my surgery date!!!!  Just got the call....May 4th.  That was quick.  I had my consultation just a week ago.  I go for my pre-op on April 30th.   until next time......

Well, I started the 2 week protein diet yesterday.  I have to do this diet now for 2 weeks and then again 10 days pre op.  It's 2 protein shakes and 1 salad a day.  It totally sucks!  The protein tastes horrible.  I have to drink it out of a cup with a lid because if i smell it when i'm drinking it....I gag.   Not good.  I am trying so hard but it just tastes bad.  I even tried mixing it with coffee.....doesn't help.  And it seemed like it left a funny taste in my mouth all day.  Not to mention the burning nauseas feeling I had in my stomach all day yesterday.  BUT I did make it through my first day !!!  Just needed to vent!

Today was my consultation with Dr. Warnock.  He was great.  Everything you hear and read about him is all true.  He is so compassionate and understanding, you can't help but to love him.  I am confident he will do a great job with my surgery. Now all i have to do is wait for insurance to approve it and then i will have a surgery date.  In the meantime I will attend a support group meeting.   I am excited to start my new life :)

April 7, 2009--I called Tricare today and I am approved for Dr. Warnock in Witchita Falls!  I am so excited.   I just have to wait a few more days for my authorization number.  The suspense is killing me  
April 8th 2009:  I got my Tricare authorization # finally.  After waiting 2 1/2 weeks...it is finally here!  I will make an appt in the morning with Dr. Warnock!!!! Thanks Fochaux for telling me about the online site :)  That made all the difference. Till next time..... 
April 9th, 2009--Dr. Warnock's office called this morning to schedule my initial consultation.  They had a cancellation so my appointment is TOMORROW at 2:30pm.  I can't believe it!!!  I actually have butterflies in my stomach.  yippee!!!!!

I'm a little pissed off right now.   I just called Tricare b/c i hadn't heard from them...and my referral was not in the system.  Was never submitted.  WTF???  That would be my luck.  My son's referral (pediatric endocrinology) submitted the day after mine was SUPPOSSED to-was in the system  and approved.  I guess that's what i get for getting my hopes up.  I called the clinic and left a message for my PCP/PCM.  Hopefully he gets back to me by Friday.

My Journey Begins= I went to my PCM for a referral on Monday March 23, 2009.  He is not a big fan of the band and thinks a revision is a good idea.  So---he submitted my referral for RNY to tricare.  Just waiting to hear from tricare for an appt.  Can't wait.Not sure where I will be seen.  Either Reynolds Army hospital or Dr. Warnock in Witchita Falls.
