Hi-My name is Lisa. I am 31 years old, mother of 2 gorgeous boys and wife of 10 years to a prior Navy Sailor, prior Marine and now a current Army Soldier (he's trying all branches
just kidding). Well, my story is just like most everyone on this website. I started gaining weight when I was around 10 years old. I have been up and down for the past 20 years. I find the older I get the harder it is to lose weight. At times I have just given up dieting and before I know it-I am back to the weight I was before I started the diet plus some. About 5 years ago I decided to get the lap band. It sounded great at the time. Needless to say-it was not successful or I was not successful. Tricare didn't cover the lap band at that time so I decided to pay for it--and went to Mexico. The experience in Mexico was amazing. I would have never imagined it would have been so great. The thing I didn't research before I went to Mexico is Doctor's in NC to do my fills. After I was banded and got back to NC, i searced and searched for a surgeon to do my fills. To my dismay--no surgeon would touch me because they didn't personally place my band. BUMMER! So I never got any fills. So i think I failed the band rather than it failing me. I also was not aware I would need so many fills. The lap band surgeon made it sound like i would need one or two and i would be set. So here I sit, 30 lbs heavier than I was before the band-hoping for a RNY revision. Hopefully this is the begining of my WLS story.
