Hi all-- Lawanda is doing great! She had a setback yesterday, though. One of her lungs collapsed and she got put on oxygen. She also may have a leak, so has had two swallow tests and nothing by mouth. Not even water, poor dear! The second swallow test showed the leak getting smaller, so that is a good thing. With any luck, it will close up on its own soon so she won't have to be reopened. She will stay a while longer of course, so will probably be in until this coming Wednesday or longer. I'll keep you all posted, of course! Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers! She is a super sweet gal and I really enjoyed my visit. She is like an angel! She took a nice walk to one end of the hospital floor and back and then we went down in the elevator and went outside and walked around for a while and then we sat on a bench and she rested before we went back back to her room, so her mood is positive and she is looking great. I'm happy to hear that your surgery went well. I'm sure you'll be hurting for a few days, but the big event is behind you ... Now you're on your way! Wishing you all the best!

Hi all--Just wanted everyone to know that Lawanda had her open RNY today with Dr. Demerest in Alb., NM. Her mom called me with an update so here goes: She was in her room by noon and is in some pain, but managing it. She is in room 602 at UNM (University Hospital, Alb., New Mexico) if anyone would care to call her. Her mom will call me tomorrow with another update and I'll post then, too. I will see her myself on Sunday and let everyone know how she is doing after that, as well. So send your prayers and good thoughts and vibes her way! Thanks so much! Lauren : )

Wow, just 6 more days. Eat... eat... eat... I just found out I have to have all my tests run again before my Doc. will do my surgery. I had them done last year but he wants them current. I had to have 3 tests today, 3 scheduled for Monday and 1 on Tuesday. And to beat all, he tells me I can only have clear liquids starting Monday at Midnight. That stinks. Well I hope you have a good week. I am so excited and yet I am starting to get a little nervous. Well I will let you go. Wendy
