Hubby is outta town and i'm stressin!
Feb 06, 2010
So, my husband is in the Air Force and he flies and is currently TDY in Las Vegas. Its only been 2 days and I am really down and missing him alot. This is our first time being seperated since we have been married in Dec 2007. We have a son who is turning 2 in 3 days and Matt won't be here for that or Valentine's which isn't nearly as important as my son's birthday but still disappointing.
I just have no desire to eat while he is gone and its starting to worry me because i really need to get my protein in so i can take care of me to take care of my son. i just feel sick everytime i try to eat.
I wish you could take protein in pill form so i wouldnt have to worry about it EVERYDAY! its so stressful. any who...on a lighter note- i am down 60 lbs! i feel sooo much better than i have in so long. I feel lighter! and sexier and my clothes are loose which is awesome! i don't have to buy XX or XL anymore! and that feels amazIng. only sad thing is the boobies! i have lost my boobies! dropped almost 2 whole cups sizes! oh well! its all part of the journey to a better healthier me!
Well, i'm off to get some beauty rest! i'll post again soon though :D

So its midnight and I'm sitting here thinking- what in the world have I gotten myself into! I'm 3 weeks post op as of today and i've lost nearly 30 lbs so far i'm never hungry but i do feel weak and tired alot.
I am keeping my head up though and negative thoughts at bay by distracting myself with my son and going for walks and being around friends and spending time with hubby. I just feel like i'm not sure what to do with myself. I get hungry and i eat but everytime i eat i throw up because even after one bite i'm soooo full i just feel like my food is gagging me in the back of my throat. its not stuck i just feel immediately sickly full and i can't enjoy anything, even water!
my meal replacement shakes are horrid and i have to try to choke down my vitamins which is a task in itself. i just keep telling myself this will pass.
i've been doing purreed foods like i'm supposed to and i still throw up. is this normal??
My hubby keeps saying maybe i'm eating too much but how can one bite be too much? so i just go back to liquids and then try again when i feel better and the same thing happens. i'm so frustrated. is anyone else having this problem?
on the plus side: people are noticing my weight loss and making comments which is nice. i'm at 216!!! and i have about 70-80 more lbs to lose to get to my goal!

6 days post-op

So I finally had my surgery done on monday and was able to come home on weds. today is sunday and tomorrow i will be one wk post op. I feel about as well as can be expected. I'm starting to crave solid foods and sweets again! i know its terrible but i love my carbs! lol I won't eat any don't worry.
I weighed myself today starting weight was 241, the day of my surgery i weighed 233 and today i weight 227. I'm so glad i've lost some weight. I have a gast tube that i use a port for the fluids i need to have but cant finish like my meal replacements shakes. No one told me about the gast tube so it was a shock waking up to that. and when i woke up i was in some terrible pain. so don't let people tell you it doesn't hurt because it is quite painful BUT mind over matter and you'll be in the clear in no time. today i'm feeling pretty good, i actually left the house to go to marshalls and target and i didn't feel like i was light headed and lethargic.
The best advice i can give to others having the surgery is- have plenty of gas-x on hand or beano because the gas pains are awful. AND walk walk walk and walk somemore. its soooo wonderful what a little walking can do and don't forget your vitamins! they are key!
I'm here for anyone who has any questions. just email or msg me. I plan to keep everyone updated on my journey,so stay tuned for more from me!
Thanks to everyone for all your support and love.

Getting ready for surgery!
Sep 14, 2009
So after months and months of waiting and researching WLS online and talking to dozens of people and 3 different doctors my surgery date is rapidly approaching! I had quite a time dealing with my previous doctor. I finished all my appts and did all the pre-requisites for surgery and they would not let me schedule my WLS because of some misunderstanding with my insurance company. So I requested all my records and went to go see Dr. Ronnie Keith, who I absolutely trust! Im so glad things have worked out the way they did because I wouldn't want it any other way.
So on the 28th of this month I FINALLY have my WLS and this Fri i start my 10 day liquid diet. FUN fun fun!
I'll keep posting updates before and after the 28th! i'm so excited wish me luck! and maybe a prayer or two for me!
Thanks!
Katie
