As I write this my age is 43. I've been overweight for as long as I can remember. As a child it was nothing serious, just what was commonly referred to as 'baby fat' (the regular ole FAT not the new PHAT...LOL). Anyway, I joined Girl Scouts around the age of 12? and was quite active, going hiking, backpacking, canoeing, skiing, even competing in a box car derby and a canoe race! Who knows, had I not broken my knee cap when I was 14 years old, would my activity level remained the same or increased? or would I have naturally gravitated to a less active life style that was thrust upon me by the 'bad knee'. So that's when my weight increased, slowly but steadily, over the years.

At high school graduation I wore a size 13 and was larger than half the girls in my class. Now? I'd LOVE to wear a size 13! At any rate, I met my husband 2 months after graduation, married him 2 years later, and got pregnant with our first daughter on our first wedding anniversary! Wahoo! Who knew that pregnancy would be THE BEST DIET EVER for me?!! By the time I was pregnant I guess I weighed 200 lbs., around 3 weeks pregnant I began vomitting and didn't stop until the day of delivery! I lost 50 lbs. during my first pregnancy. It was NOT good, not good at all. All that vomitting damaged my esophageal sphincter and I've had terrible reflux ever since (I take 40 mg. of omeprezole daily, if I don't, I'm a hurtin' pup).

to be continued....
