14 months post-op
Dec 30, 2008
Hey everyone, I know I always say it and it has been entirely to long since my last post. I am now 14 months post=op and down 130 lbs. I have gone from a size 24-26 pant down to a size 10..... ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!!! I never thought even with the surgery that I would be in a size 10. I also went from a size 2-3x shirt to a small, again shocked. My biggest problem right now is feeling much larger than I really am. I still feel like the fat girl, I hope that my personal image will soon change. Other big changes are me coming out of my shell, I didn't realize how much of a hermit I had become before the surgery. I hold my head up high now, I don't mind having my picture taken, I don't even wonder if people are looking at me in that fat girl way. I couldn't be happier. I love being able to run around the jungle gym with my 3 year old. I have nearly come to a stop in my weight loss, which is fine, I am truly happy where I am. I am currently 26 pounds from my goal, however after having a lower body lift and my belly done I am sure I will be probably 10 pounds under my goal so i am not worried. I have a Friend that I hope reads this and other profiles too, to finally realize there is a way out for this has been so wonderful for so many of us. It took me 3 years to decide to have this surgery, my only regret is that I waited so long, quality of life is so improved it is not funny. My love and prayers to all my Friends I hope you are all doing well.

7 months post-op

Well it has been 7 months, I know I haven't updated lately however there is really nothing to say. Everything with the exception of my weight is the same. I still have no issues with protein or water intake. All MD appts. have been great and all labs have been great. I am truely thankful that I have had no problems to speak of. I am currently down 93lbs and the weight loss has slowed a lot. I don't get down as I am still losing and getting down doesn't do any good. I am still working on increasing my excercise, I guess my only problem area, however I run around all day with a 2 year old and that in inself is exhausting! I hope that all my friends are having as wonderful success as I am.

Well I haven't been on for some time, my computer went down, but i'm back now. Life has changed a lot in the last few months. I can finanlly start to see the difference in myself with the 62 pounds I have lost so far. It is even more amazing to realize how big you really were. I still have a lot to go, but life is much better. I have learned to enjoy the taste of food not the quanity. I still struggle with getting in all my proteins, some days are easier than others. Overall I have had an uneventful couple of months. The transition to me has not overly interfered with how I was living my life before. I hope everyone else is fairing as well as I am.

1 month Post-OP
Nov 02, 2007
Well I am 1 month post-op today. I have lost 18.5lbs and am very happy with that. I am now very sick of my meat and cheese diet. It gets a little monotious after awhile. I have had no complications (thank goodness) and have only been stuck once, not a fun feeling. Exhaustion still seems to hamper me every other day. One good one bad, at least it's a 50-50 thing. I started doing my measurements 2 weeks ago and have already lost quite a few inches, I wish I had measured prior to surgery. Hind sight is a wonderful thing isn't it. The only other problem I am having is some memory loss. Talking to people on the message boads this is a fairly common problem and will hopefully go away in the next few months. Life's good

2 week post-op!
Oct 16, 2007
Well today is my 2 week post-op, and I am feeling very well. I am still on these darn liquids and can't wait to get off them and have some real food, even if that is just meat and cheese. I have lost 12 lbs since surgery, unfortunitly I was so heavy you really can't notice yet, other than my face.. But I guess you need to start somewhere. Of course my hips and a@@ are what need the help the most and they will be last (darn). But other than that I just started an indoor walking program, I walk outside too however I get so tired still that this allows me to rest if I need to. Plus with winter coming it was a good choice. Anyways thoughts and prayers to you all!

Finally Home!!!
Oct 08, 2007
Hello to you all. Well I thought I would write as I finally made it home, it seemed like it took forever. I had my surgery on 10/02/07(Tues.) and was supposed to be released on 10/04/07(Thurs.) however I didn't make it home until 10/07/07 (Sun). I was one of the unfortunite ones who had a few complications. Luckily for me nothing a few extra days in the hospital couldn't cure. I know that most people who are getting ready to go in for there procedure would like to know what is what, well all I can say is everyone's experiences are going to be different. I think we all have a hard time in the beginging. I weighed myself for the first time 5 days post-op and am already down 9-lbs from my pre-op weight. Yeah!!! So all the inconviences and ups and downs and pains are all worth it. Lots of support to all of you who need it.

Trying to Pass the Time
Sep 26, 2007
09/26/06 - Well 6 days and counting until surgery day, I am very glad that I signed on I have already meet a couple of people in my area. The more support the better, and giving support to someone else will only help me be stronger. I hate this liquid diet, I am always hungry, the funny thing before the diet I skipped meals all the time, now that I have to drink protient shakes I'm hungry all the time. I beleive it is someone's cruel joke.
