Well I guess it is time to tell my story. I have been on this sight for the last several months getting inspiration and encouragement from all the stories and pictures. I haven't had the surgery yet but I hope that one day my story will inspire and encourage someone else going through the difficult decision of WLS.
I am a 30 years old with two beautiful children, a boy 12 and a daughter 1 1/2. I think my daughter was the deciding factor for me having this surgery. I have battled with weight my whole life and like many others I tried countless diets only to succeed and then fail again gaining  back all that I had lost plus an extra 5pounds. When my son was little I was to large to run around with him and do some of the activities I would have liked too and now I am going down the same road with my daughter, Luckily for my I have an extremely loving and supporting family and in 1 week from now I will make the plunge.  My to-do list has been a great stress reliever when it comes to the insecurities of having the surgery. Every time I get the cold feet feeling I mentally go over the list of all things I will be able and want to do, and when you have been heavy for as long as I have that list is extremely long!
About 3 months ago after the three year long debate over the "do I or do I not" have the surgery I had with myself I attended my first seminar on WLS. It was then that I was truely ready. My PCP had been trying to convince me for years, but at that point I thought I wasn't ready to give up I could still lose weight on my own. Now I realize I'm not giving up I'm starting over. I have had all of my pre-tests and my insurance approval and now am watching the clock as I sit and wait for the next week (brutual!!!!) to pass by when I to can become a big loser. I am on a liquid diet and actually quit smoking, social drinking and eating all at once!!!!! You want to talk about willpower, thank god the "wanna" to be thinner is so strong I am surviving this first challenge. And even better than that I haven't killed anyone yet...LOL

I would appreciate any type of feed back, prayers or comments.
