first fill

Dec 21, 2010

So I had my first fill on the 15th of December (1 week ago).  I actually think I have pretty good restriction.  I eat small quantities of food 3-4 times a day and I've lost 2lbs since the fill.  It took them a few pokes to find my port, its pretty deep and I have a lot of scar tissue from my previous liposuction.  I'm looking forward to more progress.  I've lost 2 pant sizes already and I am feeling the difference.

Post op update

Nov 13, 2010

So I had my surgery 4 days ago and I'm finally starting to feel better.  The pain was more than I was initially prepared for but I know it will be worth it in the end.  I stopped taking my nausea meds because they were making me so anxious and I was having to take xanax to calm myself down.  I finally got all of my liquids down yesterday and today I start taking my multivitamins. :)  I[m down 22 lbs now and I'm only 12 lbs away from being smaller than my husband.  I can't freaking wait until I am.

Shawns probably a little frustrated with me because I'm up and down most of the night and I'm not really giving him any attention. Its hard for me to remember to do that right now because all my energy is focused on doing the things I'm supposed to be doing in relation to the surgery.  I'm also trying not to focus on the pain, which is difficult.  I know that things will be getting better around here soon though. As soon as the incision pain goes away I should be all set. Right now though to 2 incisions on my left side, one little one and the one where the port is are  super sore.  :( I'm hoping that will go away soon. It should as they heal.  Wish me luck on my continued weight loss journey!

Day before surgery

Nov 08, 2010

Bah! So why on earth did I decide to wait to the last minute to pack my stuff for my hospital stay, do all my laundry, vaccum my home and finish decorating my Christmas tree???  Now I'm stressing because I have so much to do and because I'm nervous about tomorrow.  I really hope everything goes well.  I'm scared of going under and I'm scared of being in pain.  Normally I'm pretty tough but this decision to have surgery was a long time coming and I just really really really hope that it works out.  I hope I'm tough enough to follow my nut's reccomendations.  I will be unbelieveably happy once I get off this liquid diet.  Eating nothing but protein shakes for 3 weeks is enough to drive me bonkers!  I only have 1 week more after surgery and I'm sure that will fly by.

This weekend was hard, Shawn and I went down to his parents house and of course we ate out 2 different times, I just ate broth from soups but I know there was fat in it.  I just couldn't sit there and eat nothing while everyone else was chowing down.. of course both places were buffets so everyone had platefuls of food.  I wish they would have been more considerate but whatever.  I did the best I could to stay on track and keep my sanity.  Going down there is stressful enough.

Well I hope to catch up with all of you soon! Wish me luck.  I know I am in good hands.

Pre Surgery Diet

Nov 04, 2010

So, I've been doing the pre-surgery diet and all I can say is boy do I miss cheese and meat :) especially combined.  I've lost 12lbs in 1 week and 2 days.  That is pretty amazing.  My surgery is scheduled for November 10th, I'm excited and nervous of course.  I can't wait however to get healthier and I really really can't wait until everything hormonally gets back on track so I can have a baby!!

Of course I'm having the surgery right before the holidays and it might be difficult to eat some of my favorite foods but at least by then I will be able to eat some mashed potatoes instead of these awful milkshakes.  I told mom the other day that they needed some shakes that were savory.  I am soooo sick of sweet.  Buying the soups was the best thing ever.

I suppose the most important thing of all though is that I'm getting my life back in control, that my health will improve and hopefully I will have a long and happy life.
