Well, just heard that headaches could be caused from not getting enough protein... so time to make sure I'm really getting as much as I can during this difficult part of my recovery..
Also, have a followup appointment next Friday with Dr. Gersin. AND an appointment with the dietician next Thursday.
Must start getting out of my soft food rut... and get away from the carbs! Need to start making other foods, so I don't keep getting in this rut. I'm sure it will be a little easier when I can eat any food... but still.
Not much more to add in, but thought I'd make a record of the headache and the food rut.

Oh yeah, one more thing... as much as I feel pretty much my old self.. I can tell I get tired out alot faster lately now that I'm back to work.
I've also decided to participate in the Get Your Rear in GEAR 5K on March 5th, so I need to start training for that. I know I probably won't be able to run the whole thing, but if I can run some of it, it will be progress!!

Black Leather Jacket!

Ok, so today, for the first time in two years, I am able to wear my black leather jacket... and I'm just giddy over it. I know some of my posts seem all happy and upbeat, and for the most part I am happy and upbeat. I am excited to see where this journey leads me and all the new goals I want to accomplish.
I do want to put down on here that there is some hardship. Its hard to fit in enough water, and its very difficult to get enough protein. I struggle with it sometimes. I also struggle with preparing food, since its only me at home, and I need to learn how to cook for my new small pouch, and how not to waste food.
I am sick of putting protein powder in things. It tends to ruin the taste of the food. Instead, I tend t drink myoplex. The already mixed versions you can buy by the 4 pack. I know, its more expensive, but it tastes better... but still I struggle with getting enough protein. It is something I work on every day. (Especially because I need it and I don't want to lose alot of my hair too!)
Other than that, life is awesome. I think this is one of the BEST things I've ever done for myself. I am using this new tool to get healthy and fit, and am just so excited to be on this weight loss journey!

The Office

Woohoo!! Finally back in the office and it feels wonderful.
Today has been WONDERFUL. I fell asleep early last night, so I was up and at em nice and early this morning. I did my 10 minutes of yoga stretching, plus some upper body strength exercises. It feels so good to get back to the old routine... well, its not an official "old routine" but it feels good to get into A ROUTINE. Staying in a routine has been very difficult since the surgery. I was often tempted to just lay about on the couch and watch tv because my surgical site is still a little tender.
I even took a walk to Smoothie King with my friend at lunchtime and tried my first smoothie since the surgery. AND OH HOW WONDERFUL IT IS!! I got a Kids Kup Lil Angel with an added shot of Whey protein. YUMMMM.
I feel like I've stalled in my weight loss, but I really can't complain. I think as soon as I start having more protein, and making sure I get my water, plus exercise, it will start falling off me again. I am not disappointed with the stall, I am determined to do it right! :)
In fact, I even planned my breakfast and lunch for today before I left the house. Its actually in the fridge at work, and I forgot my notebook, so I've been logging it online here on this site.
Isn't technology a wonderful thing?

Today is my first day back to work. I am so ready to dress up and go back to work, unfortunately, the weather didn't want to cooperate. We have a snow day, and so my official first day back to work is a work from home day... cabin fever has not been eleviated! LOL.. However, I am very happy to have the opportunity to work from home when the weather is bad. So I am very thankful for that..
The BEST thing I have blenderized so far is a morning star chicken patty... because I topped it with tomato bisque soup and some shredded cheese, and it was just like having some chicken parm!! It was yummy. I'm having it for lunch today too!!
Nice to know that blenderizing will be coming to an end this week... I am trying to keep an open mind too, so I can think of new healthy things to eat.
The follow up appointment with Dr. Gersin went well. They were pleased that I have lost 28 lbs since my surgery!! I'm pretty happy with that too. I can't wait to lose more!! If I continue on this path, hopefully I will be in awesome shape by summer.
I do need to make sure I get in enough protein and water. Those are my trouble spots. I am going to try Gatorade G2... maybe that will hit the spot more than crystal light. I'm sort of disappointed that I don't care much for crystal light anymore. Something just changed in my taste buds or something, but it just doesn't work for me anymore.
I also have decided that I will start taking oatmeal for breakfast for now, when it comes to work breakfasts. Its easy and I can blenderize it ahead of time. I'm also going to start trying my greek yogurt too, with maybe some peaches in it. I don't think I can put blueberries in it yet because of the seeds, but I shouldn't have any problems with peaches. Also, I blended some peaches and put them in small containers in the freezer. It tasted like peach sorbet and was very good! I wonder if pears would be just as good?
Told ya, random thoughts. lol

Happy New Year!! So far, the going is good... after all the family left from the holidays, I realized I wasn't eating enough, so I have started to go by the dr. office's suggested menu, and it seems to be working well.
Crystal Light lemonade doesn't hit the spot like it used to, but I've been drinking FUZE Slenderize drinks to help me quench my thirst and keep me hydrated. I'm getting very bored with the blenderizing of foods... and I'm anxious to start on regular foods again... I swear, the food commercials on the tv are starting to drive me crazy. I swear if I see one more Dominoes pizza commercial I'm going to scream.. lol... I guess I'm finally getting tired of drinking protein shakes.. and I've added some protein to a bowl of tomato bisque soup and UGH.. it ruined the whole thing...

So, just to let you know, I have work to finish up at my job before I go out for surgery, I have Christmas shopping and wrapping to finish before my surgery, and I have a party coming up that I need to finish getting ready for on Saturday...
Alot of stuff going on before my surgery... and I'm starting to stress out some. I can tell because I'm clenching my teeth... i came to the conclusion that if presents aren't bought and wrapped before Christmas, then OH WELL.
I realize I can do it afterwards, if I'm feeling up to it... but my big push was to get the NY presents done so I could send them home with my father.... but now, not so sure that is going to happen...
I'm running out of time, and I've decide my family will just have to understand that I have my surgery to worry about instead of shopping and sending presents. if I can get it done, I will, but I'm not going to worry about it anymore.
I'm also not that worried about my surgery.... I mean, when I think of it... I get a little nervous with some butterflies.. but for the most part, I'm just really excited... I've decided which pants I'm going to keep as my "big pants" so I can participate in the Big Pants Parade next year!! hehe
Also!! i'm down 12.5 (13 according to my notes at home!) and I'm ecstatic!! I just can't even imagine what I'm going to be like in a month!!!!!

Need I say more??
I've been one busy person.. the week has flown by. With getting ready for the party, trying to be done with christmas shopping and wrapping before surgery and getting things done at work before I take leave, I've been rolling along at a million miles an hour!!
Not much to report today... just busy as all get out.. and tonight is White Christmas at Ovens!!
Can't wait for the day that I'm not crammed in the seat sitting shoulder to shoulder with strangers (and friends! LOL)

This week is whizzing by... not so much because of the anticipation of the surgery, but because I'm swamped at work, and am trying to get as much done as I can before I leave for my surgery and recovery time.
Last night I had cream of chicken soup for dinner...wasn't lowfat, but it was very yummy... I also got some sugar cookies baked. I had to make sure I was full before I made them, or I was afraid I would have the urge to try one, and I don't want to mess anything up that might make me unable to get the surgery. And wow, what willpower I've had. Its good to learn that I can say NO to myself when it comes to what I eat. Or what I do, for that matter. I just love learning new stuff that goes hand in hand with the new diet and life I'm embarking on!
I also thought of another thing to put on my goals list... I want to learn how to play golf. Then maybe I'll eventually join a golf league. Figure its a good place to meet people and its great exercise!

i did weigh myself.. and it looked like I gained 1.5 lbs today, but I didn't really go to the bathroom yesterday. And I'm really hoping that I'm not getting constipated. I was constipated on Saturday and WOW, was that painful. I'm really hoping that I won't have to deal with that much. That's why I'm making sure I drink some V8 and have some soup, so its just not protein. Hopefully this will be just what I need to keep me as regular as possible.

This time next week, I'll be in surgery... I can't tell you how freaking excited I am... plus, I weighed myself today and I'm down another two pounds!! Wow, not to mention my upcoming holiday party.
I didn't want to postpone my party til after my surgery, so I stuck with my usual date... the second Saturday in December. The house is decorated, and last night I finally got the holiday lights strung outside. The house looks awesome. Over the weekend it was a little difficult to just stay liquid, so I kept pretty busy... and Sunday, I baked two different kinds of christmas cookies and didn't even lick my fingers!
With the surgery and the holidays coming up, things are just so busy right now, its sort of easy to just rely on having a protein shake. I do have a few christmas gifts to get and I have tickets to see White Christmas this Wednesday. Sunday night, I'm planning to take my Dad and Eileen to see McAddenville... thought that would be a nice way to spend my last night before going to the hospital.
I need to be at the hospital at 8:30 on Monday, Dec 13th for a 10:30 surgery.... omigosh, its coming SO QUICKLY!!
Now my biggest challenge is finding something to wear that I can wear home from the hospital... loose fitting and easy to get in and out of.. WISH ME LUCK!!
Oooh, and I also watched a tv show over the weekend that listed out extreme thrill rides,... oooh, I MUST put those things on my bucket list! Tara wants to go to Vegas when we are LBD ready... and I am going to drag her up to the top of the Stratosphere to ride the rides up there... talk about a THRILL RIDE!!!
