My first post

I am not sure about this whole blogging thing. I guess I should tell whoever is going to read this a little about myself. Hi I am Jay, I am a 36 year old married father of 3 wonderful, most of the time, boys ages 13, 5, and 3. I have been a volunteer firefighter for 20 years and have been a career firefighter for the past 3.5 years. My beautiful wife of 4 years had this surgery done almost 7 years ago.

I have been a big boy almost all of my life. It sucked growing up as the fat kid. I would love to just once see how it is to not be looked at as fat. One of the harshest things I have heard in my 36 years was told to me by my 5 year old son. We were talking about his bed and he was asking if I would lay in his bed with him. I told no I can't because I am too big for it. His reply was "is it because you are fat daddy". This made a tear come to my eyes, I know he didn't mean it to be hurtfull but I wonder where he heard that from. That was I think the breaking point for me.

I have tried over and over for about 15 years to loose weight. I have tried several different methods and the most I have been able to loose was about 20lbs. But then I gained it back. I hope that this life change will work for me and I will not be the fat guy anymore. I guess I will figure out other things to talk about later.
