It has been a wonderful 2 years. I have lost 75 pounds and feel like a new person. I am able to wear a size 10-12 and have so much more energy. Weight loss surgery has been my new lease on life. My diabetes is gone as well as my high blood pressure and high cholesterol. It will add years to my life.

I am now 2 months post-surgery. I have made it into onederland!! I can't remember the last time I was one hundred something. I am off of  6 of my medications. I still take one of my diabetes oral medications and one high blood pressure medication. My blood pressure is getting a lot lower and hopefully after a few more pounds I will be able to go off of that medication. I have been excersising 5-6 days a week and have a lot more energy now. I do miss some foods at times but I really don't feel deprived. I have experienced a few episodes of something getting stuck, and am learning as I go about chewing well and eating slower. I tried salad for the first time this week and it went fine!! I am looking forward to going shopping for new clothes. For now I am just trying to get by with what I have. I am down 42 lbs!!

I came home from the hospital today.  I slept most of the way home.  Surgery went well according to Dr. White.  My nurse commented that she couldn't believe how well I was doing.  I am not a fan of pain and will have to say that the pain was the worst part.  But there are great meds for that, so I didn't suffer very long.  I had no pain from all of my incisions, only the drain site.  I had a morphine pump that ran a slow rate constantly and I could bolus a dose by pressing a button.  I couldn't ever tell the difference. There is also other IV pain meds that were available to me.  I never vomited, but did get nauseated a few times and received meds for that.  I didn't weigh myself since my surgery, but I did lose 12 lbs on the pre-op liquid diet.  So glad to be on this side of the experience.
