I have settled at a consistant weight of 250 for the past three months or so. My knee is much improved, but I still will possibly need a replacement. All blood tests are normal for the first time I can remember. No more BP medicine, no more Diabetes medicine either. Blood sugar is normal. I would reccomend the procedure to anyone who is psychologically prepared for the changes in lifestyle.

Well, it has been 1 year and I have lost 130 pounds to date. No surgical complications, and everything is doing well. My web page has before and after pictures. http://www.ixthus.com/marks.htm

Still nursing my knee, but the great news is I have lost 60 lbs since my surgery on 12/15. I have also been fortunate and can still tolerate dairy products. Also I have not yet encountered any food that I cannot keep down. For the first time in my life I have to "eat to live" as I never feel hungry. Also for the first time I know what it is like to feel full when I eat.

My physical Therapy continues to progress on my knee. With a walker and a wheel chair, I can stay home without an aid. I was able to go to the surgeon for a post-op visit on 1/15 and was surprised with a 40 lb. weight loss in just one month. Thanks to all of you for your prayers and support. MARK

Mark, I was SOOO HAPPY to find your messages. I have been very worried about you, though I've never written before. My surgery is coming up soon and (because we are nearer in age) I was especially wanting to hear your comments & experience of the surgery. I will continue to keep you in my prayers for a full and complete recovery.

During the hospital stay, I reinjured the tear in my right knee. While I could walk into the hospital for surgery unassisted, I had extreme pain and difficulty making it home on my discharge. I am receiving in-home physical therapy, and hope to be out of my recliner and walking again soon. Please continue o keep me in your prayers. Thanks, Mark

Surgery was very successful. No nausea at any time, and the incision pain was much less than I expected. Discharged on December 22.

My prayers will be with you as you go through the surgery and recovery. May your strength be restored; your recovery be swift and your tender heart be renewed.
