I have been overweight most of my adult life, I was heavy in High School, but not Obese.  I had lost weight before Graduation (I had met my now husband and was engaged) so I was actually thin for my wedding a year later.  I started gaining weight soon after settling into married life(now going on 18 yrs), and stayed overweight through the pregnancy of my son (seven years into marriage) and stayed that way until about 4 years ago when I got on Weight Watchers and lost 65 pounds, which I was able to sustain for about 2 years, then I just kept gaining until I have now reached my all time highest weight of 280 lbs. (30 lbs higher than before Weight Watchers!!)  I now feel worse than I ever have in my life ( I am only 36 but can't imagine 40 or 50 more years feeling like this!) I work long hours and my feet now protest every time I go to work, can't find shoes that are comfortable for long, just miserable.  I decided about 4 months ago I would check into weight loss surgery after hearing some success stories after doing some research I went to a lap band seminar and decided I wanted to do it......then I found out that even though my insurance covers the surgery, I had to go through the 3 month weight management program for them to qualify me.  Well, I have my last appointment tomorrow with the Wellness program Nutritionist and I will be anxiously awaiting word from the insurance about whether or not I will be able to have the surgery.  I have actually gained during the 3 month program, after all I decided I need surgery, if I could just watch what I eat I wouldn't need such drastic measures!!!!  I will try to patiently wait a little longer.......then maybe I'll have a surgery date.
