Hi all. I'm back. Had my surgery on January 22nd. Just got home from the hospital on the 31st. I don't know how to explain the experience. The surgery went well. The Dr. removed several adhesions before he did the bypass. I had my leak test and one staple was leaking. That is why I was in so long. The Dr. was very conservative. So I started liquids a week after the surgery. All looks well. He thinks the leak may repair itself. He said it would serve no purpose to go in and repair it now. He would though if necessary. He said after I lose 100 pounds and it's still there that he would go back in and it would be easier. He thinks the staple hit the fat and didn't go in all the way. The hospital staff was excellent. I came home with an open wound to take care of. I wasn't prepared for that. Luckily I have a visiting nurse to come to clean during the day. My husband helps me clean it at night. Having some problem with the Carnation Instant Breakfast. Hopefully only temporary. Don't know about any weight loss because my scale doesn't read that high. Will find out Tuesday. Thanks to Lucy Cosentino for being my Angel. She updated everyone and even called me in the hospital. We keep in touch through e-mail too. Thanks for everyone who posted on my page. It's a little rough but will be worth it in the long run.

Hi Everyone..I am still Kathy's angel. I got an email from her hubby Paul, and Kathy will be coming home tomorrow (thursday). I can't wait to talk to her.She is on a liquid diet. Wishing her well.Will be glad to have you home:))).Love to you and God bless<3

Hi There..Kathy may be coming home tomorrow(tuesday)..They did not do another leak test but gave her water. Hopefully she will be home soon.. Love and hugs..<3

I have another update from Kathy's husband Paul via Email. Apparently she went for her leak test and there is a leak at one of the staple sites , so the doc is leaving her NG tube in.He predicts that it will close on it's own, without intervention. She is also congested but we are still looking at springing her out of there on Saturday.Can't wait till you are home..Love ya..<3

Hi Its me again. I talked to Kathy on the phone and she still has her NG tube in and was out of bed today for 5 hours in a chair according to her hubby Paul. He said she has more pain in her back than her belly. Her spirits are good and she should be going for her leak test tomorrow.Hopefully she will be sprung on Saturday. Well thats it for now..Love you girl..keep up the good work.God Bless<3

I got another email from Kathy's hubby and he said that Kathy had to wait a bit today to have her surgery since they were backed up, so she went later than scheduled.The doc also had to gom through the nasty adhesions from previous surgeries, but all went well. She may be a little bit more sore because of this, but in the long run it will be worth it. But the important thing is that she is doing fine, in her room and I will try to talk to her or hubby tomorrow.GOD BLESS ALL<3
