I have been over weight most of my adult life.  I was miserable.  I had gained and lost pounds to the extent of 113 pounds three times in my life.  When the surgery was first introduced to me, it scared me to an extreme level.  So much so that I talked my Little Sister out of doing it.  Four or five years later after experiencing a close friend going through it, I learned about it and decided to do it myself.  For the first 4-6 months I had what was equivalent to "buyers remorse".  I asked myself every day, "What the hell was I thinking?"  That didn't take too long to pass, and then when asked, "How I like it?" my answer is "It is the absolute best thing I've ever done for myself in my life!!"  I am 3 years out and 160 pounds lighter, some people think I'm too skinny, I think I'm AWESOME.  I feel awesome! I would recommend the surgery to anyone who is obese and of course as long as they are in good enough health to get through the surgery successfully.  I would also strongly recommend, don't do it if you're not serious.  Why put yourself through the risk and expense, if you are not going to make the necessary changes for the rest of your life.
