I heard from the insurance company today and from Dr. Takata's office. My surgery is scheduled for March 21st!  That's a long time away, but my doctor is very busy. I guess I'll just have to be patient.
I'm REALLY excited!

Everything went fine with the Cardio test, and then I met again with my surgery doctor.
My request has been submitted to my insurance company, Pacificare, and they expect I'll hear back within just a few days. Pacificare has already approved the VSG for other members of this board, so there's no reason to believe they won't approve mine.

I met with the Cardiologist. He said that, to be safe, he wants me to take a stress treadmill test. I made an appointment to take the test in a couple of weeks, and then I'll meet with Dr. Takata, again.
The Cardiologist also let me know that I have high cholesterol and he put me on a prescription for that.
I'm sooooo hoping that at my next meeting with Dr. Takata, we'll get started with turning in the papers to get the "okay" from my insurance company, Pacificare.

   I met with the surgeon for the first time today. He's supportive of my decision to have the VSG, but wanted to make sure that I understand that there isn't a lot of long-term info on it's success as a stand-alone weight loss surgery.
   He also thinks I should not be taking NSAIDS after the VSG. I'm trying to wean myself onto Tylenol for problems with achey joints.
   Because I'm almost 60, he wants me to meet with a Cardiac surgeon before we move along toward surgery. I'm sure this is a good idea.
