The plan was for me to go first. But we got the letter " insurance said no" for me. We knew they would ok John my hubby because he had by-pass surgery & other things. But again the letter came that said no to him also. I was in shock I cried for days then Insurance called told us just because we got denied does not mean it is over. "well who knew"?? They told us both what we had to get them. All John needed was a letter from his heart surgon. We got that & sent it right in. Mine took a few more days to get because no one could tell me what my c-pap Prescription was.
Then the Monday before Ike hit I fell trying not to land on my granson I threw myself the other way. as I was coming down I knew--- just knew I broke my ankle. Yep I did 2 days later had surgery on it now have 7 screw & a plate in there doc said " I did a good job breaking both sides & the middle". John got approved that day 2 days later Ike hit. We only lost power for 4 days so we were soooooooooo lucky.
2 days later I got approved but doc said not until I can walk on my own. So John went first on
10/14/08 I just started walking with my boot on that weekend. He really is doing & feeling great down like 22 pounds from day of op & 50 pounds since the start. he got sick for 21/2 days his own fault. Did not follow rules." Will never do that again.lol so he says".
I found this site the day John got sick. I had no idea what to do for him. He was sooooooooooo weak . I am sure u all know what happened to him but I was scared to death. we have been married 32 years & I never ever saw him so fragile. He's the man the tough guy. Made me think what the hell am I getting into. We talked about it & really it happened because of two things.
He ate way to soon & on top of that he took a drink of juice right after eating.
I have mine on Monday 11/10/08 @ 5:30a.m. a little scared but very very excited. Just clear liquids for me starting today.
