I have to admit when I first learned about the lap band surgery I thought it was the craziest idea in the world. Next to gastric bypass that is. Why would I want to live with a foreign object in my body? After doing tons of research I decided it was the right choice for me. After years of gaining and losing weight thru diet pills, weight loss programs, and starving myself, I decided to try something extreme. I have steadily gained over the years and before I knew it I was very close to 300lbs with a severe case of sleep apnea. I have to try the lap band surgery for my own health or risk other life threatening illnesses associated with being overweight. So my journey begins....
