34 inches Lost! And I don't want to find them again!

Sep 29, 2007

I'm feeling great.  I'm getting to hear more comments from people who are noticing the weightloss more.  I have lost 42 lbs so far.  My family and I went to Floriday the week of the 17th and I really ate pretty much what I wanted and only gained a couple pounds back.  So last week I got back on the diet train and lost those two pounds.  Now I have to get back into the gym and start my process again.  I actually have more enery and stamina than before.  I'm running out of clothes to wear that I have had in my closet for years.  Things are finally getting TOO big.  I never thought I would say that.  I do have so more pics to put on here.  Well I got back for a fill this month and hopefully they will fill me to at least 3cc.  I still can eat too much.  So this is all based on my willpower.  It's been a long road.
Ta Ta for now.

I'll have a Refill please!

Aug 28, 2007

I decided to go back and get a refill since the fill on the 16th didn't seem to have enough restriction.  I'm now filled up to 2.8cc now.  I now fill better restriction.  It could probably be filled even a couple more cc's and I'd be even better.  I think this one will work until my next fill in 6 weeks.  My next one is scheduled for Oct 11.  I'm now done to 220 lbs.  I haven't seen that weight since I worked at the Council on Aging in 2002.  What a good feeling.
I will have to get my pics up soon.  I have already taken them, just need to upload them on here.  Hopefully, everyone else can tell a difference.  I'm noticing little things finally.  The Nurse Practioner was able to hit the port on this first try without any numbing medicine.  It really isn't bad at all.  You really only feel the intial stick of the needle and then its nothing after that.  For those who have not had a fill yet, don't get stressed or worried about it.  It's a piece of cake.  Pardon the pun.

Had My Second Fill this past Thursday

Aug 17, 2007

Hello all,
Had my second fill this past Thursday.  Dr. Syd's nurse practicioner was gone for the day so Dr. Syd came in to do the fill.  I didn't  have any numbing medicine this time and it was a breeze.  He found the port on his first try and was done with me within 3 or 4 minutes.  That included me sitting up and drinking some water to make sure it wasn't too tight.  I now have 2 cc of saline in the band.  I originally had 1.5cc but when he measured it this time it has lost a little bit.  It was back down to 1.3cc.  He said that is normal because there could have been an air pocket in there the first time.  I have only been eating mashed potatoes for the last two days (because that's what I want).  He told me I needed to eat liquids for a couple days to make sure what I could handle.  I have done great with those so far.  I'm anxious to try something solid just to see if the band has anymore restriction to it.  I'm just taking it slow for now.  I did drop two pounds from Thursday to Friday.  I got home last night and went to bed.  I've got cold-like symptoms.  Mother says it ragweed season and its probably my allergies acting up.  It still makes you worn out and icky feeling.  I just maintained my weight overnight.  I'm at 224 lbs this morning.  Alicia, so I have missed your call the last few times you have called.  I have been working different hours then usual since we are still short-handed.  Are you guys going to make it up for the Hahn reunion?  Sept 8th is the date.  We are dj'ing the function.  And of course the other will all bring their instruments.  Ryan should come and jam with them.  It would be so much fun and we could celebrate your birthday.  Yipee!  Just let me know.  Love to everyone.

Maintaining for now

Aug 14, 2007

It's been awhile since I've written.  I haven't been real strict on my diet for about the past week.  I've been bouncing back and forth between 1 to 3 lbs the past few days.  This morning I was back down to 226.  I plan to be down a pound tomorrow.  I'm thinking positive.  I go for my fill on Thursday and I'm going to tell them to tighten me up.  I'm able to eat way too much right now.  I really have to use willpower.  Anyway, I'm still out here and taking pictures as I go.  I will post them later.
Love to all,
sarah

Bye Bye 30 lbs!

Aug 06, 2007

I weighed yesterday morning and I have now lost 30 lbs total.  I haven't checked my inches.  I will do that around the 20th of this month and I will get more updated pictures.  Hopefully I don't gain a whole lot after I eat supper tonight.  I have left over roast, potatoes, carrots and noodles.  Yummy, Yummy.  It was so good last night.  And believe it or not I did not gain weight from that last night. Thank goodness!  Well toodles for now.
Love to all!

8-3-07 Starting to lose again!! Down 28 Lbs!

Aug 02, 2007

Well it's Friday.  Enough Said there!  I stepped on the scales this morning and weighed in at 228Lbs.  I'm back in the 20's now.  People are starting to notice the weight loss, which helps keep me positive.  I'm still excersing great willpower since my band is not as tight as it should be.  But I go back to have my next fill on the 16th.  I can handle it.   I have gotten myself accustomed to this life now.  The counselors that tell you this is a life-altering experience are definitely not lying to you.  It will change the way you think and look at things for the rest of your life.  It's definitely a POSITIVE way of life now.  Rest assure Mother.  I know your were probably stressing there for a second.  I have no regrets about having this surgery.  It's a blessing in disguise.  Well except for paying for it.  That's no fun.  But worth every penny in the long run.  I'll keep on a trucking! Love to you all!

Had My First Fill Yesterday (25lbs Lost)

Jul 27, 2007

Had my first fill yesterday.  I asked for a local for the pain since it was my first time getting adjusted.  I'm glad I did since the Nurse Practitioner was having a little bit of difficulty hitting the port site.  She ended up calling in Dr. Rohrsheib to make sure she was in the right spot and it turned out she had missed the the site.  She said 90% of the time she is able to find the port site on her own.  Dr Syd came in and asked for the LONG NEEDLE.  SCARY SOUNDING!  I didn't feel a thing!! YIPPEE!!  He hit the port the first time.  They put in 1.5 cc of saline in.  I don't think it's filled enough.  I ate last night and was still able to eat more than I'm supposed too.  But I still lost a pound though.  I'm really suppose to be on liquids for a couple of days, but I tried eating a salad and had no problems at all.  And I can still eat more than I should be able to.  The main thing is I'm still losing weight, but it's strictly by willpower only.  I guess I can do it if I really try.  But I really want the tool to start helping me.  Well that's all for now.

22 lbs and 18.25 INCHES GONE!

Jul 20, 2007

Yes, it's hard to believe it's been 1 month ago today that I had my surgery.  I'm glad its been a month.  I really don't want to have to go through the healing process all over.
I weighed this morning and was 234lbs.  Jim helped me measure and according to our measurements I had lost 18.25 inches.  I don't feel as though I'm doing to bad.  I have been excersing my buttocks off every night.  I walk, lift my weights and then try doing situps.  The situps still kinda bother my left side.  It feels like I'm pulling something apart inside.  So I thought I may hold off on those until next Thursay when I go to my first fill.
As soon as I get off of work tonight, I need to go to Walmart and a digital camera so that I can take some after pics for this site.  Hopefully everyone can tell a little bit of a difference.  I will try and get those pics on by tomorrow afternoon.
Toodles for now
Love you
Sarah

21 lbs. LOST!

Jul 18, 2007

Well I finally broke through the 20 lb weight loss.  I weighed this morning and I weighed 235.  I have started to step up my excerise program now.  I am able to do situps now with no pain.  I have been using my home gym working out my arms and legs and still walking around my neighbor hood.  I need to find a good exercise for my abs besides just situps.  My sister gave me encouragement last night and said I would get passed the 20lb loss.  I did finally.  Thanks SIS!
I can really tell that I need a fill.  I am able to consume more food than I would if the band was tight.  So I am looking forward to July 26th for that first fill.  I feel that will help extremely.  Because right now I am having to use STRONG willpower.  I can tolerate all solid foods at this point.  But, I was trying small amounts of solids after 2 weeks and did just fine.  You learn to listen to what your body tells you.  I know when I have had enough.  My chest starts getting a real tight feeling and sometimes it's hard to breath.  I have to keep telling myself to eat really slow so that my brain can catch up with what my stomach is trying to tell it.  Well I had better get back to work.  Love to all.

20 LBs lost in one month

Jul 09, 2007

I actually weighed yesterday and I dropped two more pounds down.  I started my pre-surgery liquid diet on 6-8-07 and dropped the twenty pounds I had hoped to reach in a months time.  What a good feeling that is.  People are actually starting to notice the weight loss now.  And I'm back into clothes that didn't fit me before.  It's like buying new clothes only they are already in my closet.  Thats convenient!  Talk about recycling.  Well I don't have a whole lot to say today so I will chat with everyone later.  Take care.
