6/9/07 Well I made it through surgery and made it home in record time. I really had to take some serious time off because I was very sick after surgery. I spent most of my time throwing up and in a great geal of pain. I went to my 6 week check up and retold the office staff that I was still not getting anything to stay down. Dr. Geller was wonderful and made several suggestions yet decided that I should have a endoscopy done. He is off on vacation this next week but said that we would get it done when he returned. His nurse called me the next day and said that there was a cancellation and that they could do it this last Wednesday. I took the appointment and am really glad that I did. The scope was not bad but Dr. Geller said that I was almost completely closed off. He did the balloon and will repeat it again after his return. I finally can keep liquids and some solids down. I feel 100% better. I was very dehydrated and weak before he did the procedure. I feel like a whole new person now.

Hello everyone. I know it has been quite sometime since I last updated this. The past few months have been filled with tears, denials, and appeals. After 8 1/2 moths of weight loss programs and 37 years of diets TODAY I WAS APPROVED for surgery. I fought as long as could feeling very alone and ignorant to the system that insurance set upfor us to fail at. Finally I decided to retain Walter Linstrom and Kelley at the OBESITY LAW CENTER to help me fight my fight. They are the most wonderful people and they are AWESOME at fighting these insurance companies. They wrote a wonderful appeal letter and were ready to back me up at the second level of appeals with a panel that was scheduled via phone for 4/20 at 8:45am (that is 5:45am at their office) but today they called and said that the call was cancelled... BECAUSE I WAS APPROVED!!!!! They were as happy as I was and they celebrated with me over the phone. ANYONE that has been denied would save themselves a terrible heartache by calling Walter and Kelley. You can find them on the web at www.obesitylaw.com. I am scheduled for NEXT WEDNESDAY!!!! Wish me luck and pray that this is just the beginning of a new healthier me as well as Dr. Geller to have gifted hands on Tuesday. I am now 136.5 pounds......
