My name is Katherine and I am 37 years old. I have hit the end of the yo-yo diets and have no other choice except to have gastric bypass surgery. I had endured 6 months of waiting while doing the physician directed weight loss thing and the insurance company has denied me. I sometimes wonder if they think that we pay for insurance because we cannot think of anything else to do with our money. I was so hurt to know that after being so careful to get everything done BEFORE submitting the request that they still said NO. I am too young to live in this body that only allows me to do the activities that an OLD person might do. I miss my life and wonder sometimes if I will ever find me again. Sometimes I wonder if insurance companies refuse to pay for care for people that have "normal" disabilities or maybe they don't understand that obesity is a disability. I will write more later but for now I am frustrated.
