I remember my first diet - I was in grade 6 - and I was taking lettuce and cottage cheese for lunch instead of sandwiches - I was 11 years old - I knew already that I was not a normal weight - but I just kept on gaining and I have spent the last 24 years on the diet roller coaster - and I am so ready to get off.
I have done WW at least 8 times - I lose a bit - and then I gain - get frustrated - and quit.
I have joined gyms - tried to get the exercise routine down - is not really a good fit for me - I have recently really thought about what I actually like to do - walk, swim and dance - so I am going to focus on these 3 things.
My most successful weight loss - was when I lost 80lbs on a 4 month OPTIFAST - diet. I was in my last year of high school . ( that's 15 years ago)
So after many, many attempts at trying to get this weight off and each time regaining more - I have decided that this surgery is my best option for permanent weight loss and much better health - I have high blood pressure and live everyday with hip and feet pain - that I am sure it is my bodies reaction to carrying double the weight it should be. - that's right I have to lose 1/2 of me.
My surgery is on Nov 4th - and I am both excited to be on this journey and scared as heck.
My family and friends are very supportive - I am a very lucky person -
