My LapBand Surgery was completed !
Aug 25, 2008
My surgery went on as scheduled without any complications despite the rain and flooding from Tropical Storm Fay. I was very lucky to had a wonderful surgeon Dr. Andrew Larson and his team and JFK Medical Center. Wow the teams demonstrated care, professionalism and respect for me and my girlfriend. After I was in the OR, I've been told the procedure was done in about 45 mins and Dr. Larson came out himself informed my family everything went well and I would be in recovery room for about 2 hours.
The next thing I remember waking up in my private hospital room around noon. I didn't really have any real pain it was more discomfort. Which they accommodated me with something in my IV to take the edge off. The rest of my day I was up and walking in a few hours and sleep on and off that day. The night was about the same but could not get comfortable and up every two hours. I could not wait till the morning when they would take me to X-Ray and check the band's positioning. It was great news it was correct and I would be able to have something to drink. One of the toughest things I had dry mouth and your not allowed to drink anything but the gave me the wet swabs to use. Thank God.
I was discharged on Thursday at noon after seeing Dr Larson and members of his team. Since then I been up and waking and following the instructions and getting easier each day.
Thank''s for all the support !!
